I have a chevy 1500 silverado 2003 I have installed a evap vent soleniod and my check engine light still remains on. Has any one had this problem?

what yr an makes for a evap solenoid for a 2003 Silverado will enter change if any ?

The vent valve is bad, replace it. its not closing, therefore its leaking.

CODE PO449 IS EVAP VENT SOLENOID CONTROL CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION CONDITIONS.CHECK FUSE.IF OKAY.VENT SOLENOID FAILED.

These codes are for the evaporative emission system.The 455 is the vent solenoid.The 455 is a large leak in the evap.system.The vent solenoid I would replace because they go bad and will not work because they are under the vehicle in the rear of the truck.There is a bulletin for these and the vent valve is installed in another spot.The number for the bulletin is 02-06-04-037E.You should also look for a broken or loose hose or pipe that might have came off.Specially if you ran over something.If none found it could just be the vent solenoid stuck in the venting position.Good luck.

CODE PO449 -EVAP VENT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE CONDITION.POSSIBLE CAUSES. VENT SOLENOID CONTROL CIRCUIT IS OPEN OR SHORTED TO GROUND OR.VENT SOLENOID CONTROL CIRCUIT IS SHORTED TO SYSTEM POWER B+.OR VENT SOLENOID POWER CIRCUIT IS OPEN TEST THE ENG 1 FUSE.OR VENT SOLENOID IS DAMAGE OR HAS FAILED.OR PCM HAS FAILED.

My guess is that the fuel pump is overheating when below 3/4 because it it is not covered in cold fuel

P0135 is a bad 02 sensor
P0442 is a evap problem
P0449 is a vent solenoid

i would check the vent solenoid first its a 4ws fuse under the hood in the fuse box make sure you have power to it you should have power at all times the ground comes from the pcm i think if you fix this everything else will work they are all computer controled

DTC P0446 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vent System Performance

The vehicle control module (VCM) monitors the performance of the evaporative emission (EVAP) system by applying a predetermined level of vacuum to the EVAP system and monitors the vacuum decay rate. The VCM sets this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) if the vacuum decay rate is more than a predetermined value. The VCM monitors the amount of vacuum and the amount of pressure in the EVAP system by monitoring the fuel tank pressure sensor. For this DTC, the VCM turns ON both the EVAP purge valve and the EVAP vent valve when the Conditions for Running the DTC are met. This applies an engine vacuum to a closed EVAP system. The VCM turns OFF both the EVAP purge valve and the EVAP vent valve when the system reaches a correct amount of vacuum. The EVAP system should quickly RELEASE the vacuum in the EVAP system with the EVAP purge valve OFF and the EVAP vent valve OFF (open). This test indicates a blocked or restricted EVAP vent path if the EVAP system fails to release the vacuum quickly enough.
