first place would be from hyundai spares. next would be from an accredited steering specialist shop
Remember that the vehicle manufacturer doesn't make units but gets unit made for the vehicle and that means that the steering manufacturer can sell the same unit as a generic unit for less price,
Finally the cheapest place would be from a wrecker that wrecks hyundai vehicles.
It may be a bad line. If it's building pressure the pump is still working. May just have a bad pressure line. Check your lines to see if bent or pinched somewhere.
Grinding or whining? A lot of power steering pumps kinda whine when turning. How long has it been since you've changed the power steering fluid? Since 2000??? It looses it viscosity kinda like motor oil. I'd change it first, that's the cheapest and easiest thing to do
look to see if it is leaking from your power steering pump, then most likely it is a blown seal. Maybe you will get lucky and it is just a hose. If you can try and pin point the leak area, and then we can go from there what is the easiest cheapest most effective fix. I hope this helps some, Mike from fixya
Check your power steering fluid i had a noise like you say when i furned and it was low power steering fluid. That is the cheapest thing to check first it may be that simple.Hope this helps.
Power steering pumps do give up.If its a whirring/buzzing sound whilst you turn the wheel,it is a good sign the pump needs to be replaced.Exchange units from a power steering/transmission shop is usually the cheapest way to go and not a dealer.Hope this helps you
Check the fluid level. Are you losing fluid from the pump, hoses, or steering rack and pinion cylinder? Look at wrecking yard parts if anything needs to be replaced. If the fluid is just seeping out of a seal, try a seal-softening additive first.
I assume you mean power steering pulley as ABS is part of the brakes, it can be replaced seperatley, I would check a salvage yard, that would be the cheapest, if not a parts store should have it.Good luck
There can be many causes for a power steering leak, from loose hose clamps to failed seals inside the steering rack. The whole area needs to be cleaned down thoroughly and the leak source found and whatever the required repair is carried out from there. A power steering specialist is probably your best bet for speed and cost of repair, but you are best to get a few estimates around town and choose the shop that appeared the most helpful and friendly, not necessarily the cheapest.
i think the cheapest way to fix your problem is by using plastic epoxy resin its very easy to use, just make sure that the resin you are buying is not affected by power steering fluid and also make sure that you follow the drying time,if it does not work replacing the plastic is not a bad choice.
