The crankshaft position sensor was seriously problematic in those old jeeps. It's located towards the top of the bell housing slightly to the driver's side I think.

do you shut the propane off before turning on the gas ? try turning the propane off and start the MH on gas .. The mixture of the two is whats causing the problem .. Also you need to run it on gas frequently to keep the carb wet so it wont dry up .. it might be already dried up if you run it on propane alot . might be needin a kit in it.. thanks and holler if you need more Jerry

My jaguar (lpg gas) says limited performance

hi your issue is that your car which starts with petrol then switchies over to lpg for which youll already know ,but the problem lies within the cylindar heads as it can only be 1 of 3 things =1, your valve seals are worn excessively due to the lpg as that runs at a higher heat density which stretches the valves which in turn causes then to wear and that reduces the power ie lack off,as it puts the ecu into limp mode (safe to protect your engine) as its a common fault on ALL lpg conversions.as that is also the knock on effect with your master servo (brakes).as i fix approx 3/4 a month.
hope this help's to clarify what is wrong ok

Engine starts and idles fine, but will not rev up (2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.1 diesel auto)

If it was a fuel shortage the engine would rev but to limited speed. This is a lack of air to throttle body. Check for clogged air filter and all the piping and the throttle body.

My 2001 Grand Cherokee Revs 2500-3000 Rmp when I first start it any Ideas why

There is a plastic vacuum pipe which goes from the top of the engine to a solenoid behind the air filter.mine kept popping off due to no clamps holding it at each end( this being a 2002 limited v8) and the revs would go high when started.I bent the bracket on the solenoid so ther was less space between the two and its been fine. Also a pump or two on the gas pedal before starting lessens the revving.Hope this helps.davodown.

Oil pressure gauge reads normal when first starts. as it warms up, gauge goes to zero. If I rev engine, gauge goes back to normal.

Two things...when it reads zero, is there any engine noise (tapping or knocking)? After you rev the engine does the pressure read normal at idle and function normally, or does it go back down? Either way, you should not drive the vehicle 'till you have a mechanical gauge (yours is electro-mechanical) put on there and the actual pressure is tested. The condition may be a bad sending unit, a bad bearing or possible obstructed oil pump screen. The repair is obviously different for each one and the price is as well.

No start

You very well may have a bad or disconnected map sensor.
