SOURCE: How do you change the
I just had to do this and learned the hard way.
First take the battery out.
Second remove the plastic cap covering the low beam bulb
Thirdly there are 2 screws holding a wire tension spring against the bulb. Losen the screw towards the outside of the car (Don't touch the screw closest to the engin).
Once you do this, the bulb will come out and you can replace it.

The usual reason it would seem the length of use would be shortened is that most Subaru owners leave there lights on every where they go day and night. Really does shorten the time in days but not really the time of being on. Just a thought. Happy trails.

DO NOT buy bulbs anywhere other than SUBARU as replacement. They are specifically long life bulbs. Yes, availlable in other brands in other stores and more cost efficient but not in the long run..
SOURCE: trying to change low beam light in subarau tribeca
Hello SUBY bro, kick me if I'm wrong but imho this should not be that complicated to require a schematic......Below is the reply I posted here on FixYa for another 08 Tribeca owner......Peace
We have an 05 Legacy and I've done this. Tribeca should be the same way: Look through the engine bay
behind the light, you can locate the position by following the wires
which actually connect to the bulb assembly. The bulb assembly ought to
be removable with a 1/4-1/2 turn and pull motion. Be sure to not touch
the replacement bulb with your bare hands. Your Subaru service ought to help you with this and not charge you......

Check out your fuse associate with the low beam headlight, secondly there is a relay fuse under fuse rely box under the hoos. Locate this box, and locate the relay fuse associated to the low beam. You can rotate the relay with another relay of the same spec to see if the low beam lights are coming on. I would believe that it is a fuse that is blown, check your owners manaual on the location of the fuse box. Usually it's located in the driver side kick panel.
