2005 chevy blazer-2 door: While driving (at any speed), my truck jerks and sounds like it is being choked-out (like it's not getting its gas). While idling, it sounds like it is going to stall-but it hasn't...yet.
I purposely go to different gas station for that reason. I put in STP and tried fuel injection cleaner...neither worked. I also had theair and fuel filter changed...didn't work.I purposely go to different gas station for that reason. I put in STP and tried fuel injection cleaner...neither worked. there can be several resons for it. u need to check following:
1. check engine light is "ON" or not
2. there is change in engine sound or its louder?
3. are there jerks when u r driving?
i need to quickly see a mechanic immediately to avoid damage to engine
You will need to connect the vehicle to the manufacturers software i think for this problem ,although my first suspect is a coil pack or something along these lines but in cases like this i would need to drive the car to get any idea whats wrong
take it and have the fault codes read first
it is unlikely that they will read the codes as they would rather guess at the problem and charge you when they get it wrong
indications are fuel pressure problem ( EVAP not venting the tank) or blocked cat converter
when you take it in just tell them the symptoms as completely as you can, keeping the fault codes to yourself and hear what their guesses are before sharing any information
If you say first , they will focus on that
unlikely to be a transmission problem from what you describe
This is a rare one and can be tricky. Since your rpm gauge rises back up when you increase your acceleration slightly but you feel no jerking of acceleration then this tells me that a speed/rpm senser either has a bad connecton or the sensor itself is going bad when the engine reaches an optimum heat while driveing on the highway. Since you feel no acceleration when you slightly press the accelerator down but yet the rpm gauge is increasing back to normal, the throttle body sensor may be compensating for the failed speed sensor/failed sensor connector. Please get your uplander diagnosed properly first to confim this.
Check the fuel pressure regulator. generally "failure" position is full open which will richen up the fuel mixture. also check vacuum line to the regulator for cracks and good connection.
