I have a 1998 chrysler town & country lxi the abs light & trac off lights are on & won't go off & recently my van at times doesn't want to start or it turns over & then cuts off & if i wait an hour or so it will start. Its not the starter or gas pump it seems like there is a electrical short somewhere.Please help no one seems to know whats wrong

your evaporator is most likely leaking unless you have rear ac then check the lines going back if it is just front ac the evaporator 90%of the time is you culprit .this is book time 7.8 hours off labor the dash has to come out.but napa or other car parts places sell stop leak with 134a.also get the tool to put it in.

If you (hopefully) have the key fob (keyless entry remote), try closing the doors, then lock and unlock using the keyless entry. This should reset the security so the vehicle will start.

It will either be inside the gas tank (real pain) or it'll be in front of the gas tank recessed into the frame.
