Good Evening, It sure does sound like an alternator issue you should be charging well over 13 almost 14volts depending on the condition of your battery and the load you have running on it. You are on the right path and did all the right things to come up with your solution. Another thing to do is to still get it checked once you get it off and get your battery checked to be sure you do not have a bad cell or anything. Your local autozone and advance auto parts stores do these things free of charge. Hope this helps.
Definetly alternator issue....with the engine runngin, the volts dhould be between 13.8-14.2v. This enables the battery to be recharged from starting as well as providing all of your electrical demands.....
