Sometimes when I put on the brakes, the brake peddle pushes back out toward my foot and makes a noise. Also the fan works on defrost only and the heat nor air works. I am a single mother and not sure what to do or where to take it for help without getting taken, so trying to educate myself some. Thank you for any help. The previous owner did install a radio was thinking that may be affecting the blower. It is getting cold outside and I want to make sure the breaks are safe before my son drives it. There seems to be some lingering with the electrical system after turning off car, it still sounds like it is trying to work the windows after they are up.. and such. Don't know if It is worth the money to fix or not. Pd 1000 only had it less than a month. Angie

Pulsating brakes and peddle pushing back up

This is a classic ABS problem. Either the pump or the ABS controller. But as it is causing the brake pedal to push back you should get it seen by a qualified mechanic and DON'T drive it until it is fixed.

Red brake light stays on

Many cars have a switch that rests on the arm for the brake peddle that self adjusts. If something gets stuck between the switch and the peddle it can adjust the switch too far way from the peddle arm. When the object that got in the way falls out or is removed the switch will no longer contact the peddle arm and the brake lights will stay on. You would probably need to remove the panel cover for the bottom of the dashboard to access the brake peddle are and brake light switch. Once you see the switch depress the peddle with your hand and push the switch toward the peddle are. It shouldn't be too hard to push back into place and will probably make a series of clicks as it moves. Once the switch has been pushed in release the brake peddle and the switch will adjust itself back to where it should be.

Cant shift out of park by pushing brake peddle

Look under the dash and in the back of the Brake pedal. There is a switch which sometimes gets hit by your foot. This is the Interlock switch and it may be broken or moved out of position. If you can see whether the Brake lights are working or have a helper look at the Brake lights you can verify the problem.

Using your hand to work the switch will help you position it to work properly again. If you can't get the Brake lights to work check under the hood at the Master cylinder. There can be a hydraulic switch off the Master. Check for corrosion on the plug-in.

How do you get the E brake off?

I don't know if I can explain this correctly but I'll try. Some cars that have a foot peddle that activates the emergency brake when foot peddle is compressed. If there is not a brake release handle directly above the peddle, it might have a kind of spring release. Try pressing down on the peddle hard and then move your foot off and out of the way and it might spring back and release that way.

When push brakes you have to push really hard to make them go in then the truck barely stops. Replaced the MC and bled the brakes now every time push brakes truck acts like its going to die. Brake light...

Sounds like you will have to bleed your brakes again, but thats not the problem og hard brake peddle, need to check your power brake booster, sit right in back of master cylinder, check make sure it has vacum going to it, also to test it with engine off, press on brake peddle three time, then state engine with foot on peddle, peddle should go down a few inches, also with engine of peddle should feel soft for three pumps, if you have none of this , power brake booster is bad.

Loud noise sometimes ocurs when excelerating or braking. sounds like metal draging , but it is not.

Does it make a thudding sond on the shifter....Frist off is it 6-speed or auto, and is it a 5.7/z28/ss or base model...Could be rear tranny mount which is located on the crossmember of the car...If you put it in drive hold your foot firmly on the brake and accel, slowly only to about 2krpms, have a friend look under the middle of your car and watch for the trannie to buckle up towards the back half shaft.....Get back at me with this info..I own 7 camaros, i can def help you w/ this....

Non working brake lights in Nissan Altima

make sure the button is working, it may need to be replaced. with your foot off the brake peddle, it is on upper part of brake peddle arm. when you let off brake peddle it pushes button in to shut lights off. it may just be stuck in, spray a little lubracant on it if it's stuck and push in manually several times to loosen.

Brakes 350 ford supercab

you have to make very sure that you got all the air out of the system. and make sure that you bled it in the right order. start at the furthest from the MC and work your way toward it. It will take a couple of times. Hopefully when you pushed the piston on the caliper back in you relieved the pressure through the bleed valve cuz if you didn't you can actually ruin the Master Cylinder by blowing out a relief valve by the backflow of the fluid.

Cruise control does not work

Replace the Brake light control switch located in front of the brake peddle under the dash this also turns the cruise off when braking. While driving put your foot behind the brake peddle and pull back toward you while doing this try your cruise if it works there are three possible causes or a combination of all three. Brake control Switch, Loose or sloppy brake pedal not activating the Brake switch properly or week brake pedal return spring. Good Luck.
