no idea to be honest earlier jeeps had then at the front of the wing down below as i remember ?? newer one would i imagine be in the electrical box under the bonnet near the battery

are you talking just a long block swap using all original
manifolds and all sensors.?

or at Hollanders, call the wrecking yard, they use this service
they can tell tell you what fits. and not by year,
or they'd go broke fast.
the 3.7 is not only used on this one car, why limit self.?

engine swaps are complex as is mixing engines to wrong transmissions.
so both are 3.7L, is that it?
you never said what exacty didnt fit.
the flex plate to TC
or TC to A/T pump side mismatch.
????????
if its the flex then get the correct flex plate.
or call jeep parts? ask them for the right parts
the side of the trans has the trans part number
my guess is all you need is the correct flex plate for engine to TC.

It could be a change in software from 2002 to 2003. You might try to get. Hold of a 2003 black box as the code will most likely be different.

did you get control mods from new engine

every year the motor had different parts and timing was moved. try and take parts off the old motor. like the fuel rail and the sensors

after overheating, you should immediately replace your head gasket. most of the time, your cylinder head must be shaved (the bottom part will be sanded to make sure there is a proper fit against the engine block.)

Has anyone made this work yet? I have the same problem 2002 jeep 3.7 and just installed a 04 motor. Timing is off. Some one had a good idea of mounting the crank gear to the out side of the harmonic ballancer and mounting the sensor with a bracket. What about the cam gear on the left side. Does the timing cahain have to come off to remove it? Or has any one swaped the wiring harnest, and computer.
