There's a 30-amp fuse for the headlamps - check that first. Under the hood on the passenger side. Right next to it is a relay that drives the headlights.

The fill pipe is right back there. Check to see if a hose has been damaged. Check the spout area, is there a overflow pipe or a seam that could be leaking into the trunk?

SOURCE: How do you adjust the headlights on a 2002 Mazda Miata?

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

2013 Mazda Miata. No low beams. 12V on both wires on low beam, 12V only on positive side on high beams. All other lights work. Checked fuses, relay and passnger side ground wires. I'm stumped.

This is a useful wiring diagram. I would say try swapping the relays over first and see if Low Beams now work and High Beams don't.

Other possibilities are two failed bulbs, or a broken connector. A good test meter should be able to trace this.

Lubricate all the rods and connections you have so there is not as much friction.

The headlights in a Mazda Miata are generally of two types. Some Miatas use the factory "flip up" style headlights, where a motor raises and lowers the headlight assembly out of the front bumper area. When this motor fails or when the headlights are not working properly, you'll need to replace the failed component. Replacement headlights are normally available from Mazda or from most auto parts stores if you need to replace the entire assembly. However, before you replace anything, you need to troubleshoot the problem. check for debris in the path and any loose or frayed wires.

Unfortunatly there is no adjustments, probably a weak motor.

If this was helpful a vote with the thumbs up would be appreciated for the advice.

thanks

Miata mx5 95 pop up lights not go down

Have it checked out by a professional body shop. If they determine the problem is related to a covered accident, then they can typically get it approved by an insurance adjuster.

Mazda mx5 1990

The thermostats on Mazdas are notorious for kicking out and causing the fans to either not initiate or go on without effective results. My Protege went through 3 before I got my Miata, and I learned how to change the thermostat when it went out the first time. Hopefully, there won't be a second time, but whenever the car overheats and I notice the fans don't come one, I always assume it's the thermostat, and that's always the cause. If you don't want to fix it yourself, take it to a dealer, they're very accustomed to changing thermostats in Mazdas, believe me.
