I spilled juice on the radio head unit of my 2006 Lexus GS300. It is the Mark Levinson Navigation Unit with integrated temp controls. After the spill none of the control buttons around the screen work (nav, temp, radio, menu, etc.), but the touchscreen works. I can control limited functions via the steering wheel or voice command. I tried removing the unit, taking it apart and cleaning the various circuit boards, but it did not work. Can a solution be recommended or do I have to buy a new one?!?

SOURCE: I have a 2004 lexus

Hi,, Yes all the problems are linked, They are all controlled by the same power supply, or the ACC (accessory) supply unit. This is just a fancy way of saying a fuse and a relay. Now there are 2 fuses , 1 in the kick panel under the dash by the drivers side, and the second is in the fuse box under the hood. the relay is in the fuse box under the hood. from what your describing, seems like of of them has run slack and shorting out.

  1. locate kickpanel
  2. remove cover , under the cover is a diagram showing the fuses, locate the acc fuse or accessory fuse.
  3. pull it, make sure its good, replace it.
  4. close ip panel and pop hood
  5. locate the fuse box
  6. locate the acc fuse or accessory fuse using the diagram on the cover
  7. pull it make sure its good replace it
  8. locate and pull the accessory relay
  9. pull it, and replace it.
thats it for now,, that should solve your problem however its not the only possible cause just simply the most likely, remember i aint on the spot so you are my eyes and ears, if this doesn't work respond and we'll try another approach.. which we'll call my second best guess.

SOURCE: My 05' Lexus GX470 touchscreen

not sure here completely without a meter on the feeds but i would hazard a guess and say that the screen has died and the only way is to replace it now if your lucky you may be able to find one in the scrapyard from a accident damaged vehicle other than that a new one and i would imagine it will be expensive

2005, 2006, 2007 are the generation years that remain the same. You could also try cleaning with a light application of acrylic polish.

Hi I have BMW 750 Li (2006) before a week ago I was in my car, badly some water fall on the machine (i dont know what it the name of it) which control the menu and the screen now I cant use the navigation...

Unfortunately, water based solutions will destroy the navigation system if spilled on the electronic side of it.

Depending on how much was spilled, it probably fried the electronics in the unit, and the entire unit should be replaced.

A code will probably have to be entered in a used unit to make it work after installing the new/used one.

Sorry about that.

My 2006 LX470 seems to have a music-loving ghost. The CD & radio will turn itself on and the CD will switch to radio & vice versa. This has happened 8-10 times in the past month. Any thoughts?

The Phantom rides in style......Awesome vehicle
Sounds like an internal fault in the audio switching, check your warranty, since that LX might still be under the 4 years and if so get to a dealer ASAP.
You could go online to Lexus owners club at Lexus .com and search the issue too. Never heard of this one but the LX is a niche market so I don't see tons of them....Is yours a Mark Levinson sound system? It will say on the dash.
