SOURCE: my 2001 dodge durango is overheating an leaking coolant from a round plug type thing in the corner on the passenger side near the windshield

What exactly is the "round plug type thing" near the firewall [passenger side]? Is it a sensor of some type? I, too, have a coolant leak here on my 2001 Durango; its tucked in rather tightly near the hood/firewall corner. My electric fan is not kicking on; vehicle overheated tonight. (4.7 liter)

2001 Durango 4.7l. Can there still be spark at all the plugs if the PCM is faulty?

This may or may not be the cause, On the 4.7L V8 engine, the Camshaft position sensor failure can cause the engine to crank but not start or it can cause intermittent stalling. A new camshaft position sensor will be needed. God-Bless! Please go here to read more on this. Dodge intrepid.net

Where is the CPU on my 2001 Dodge Durango located

The PCM. They are referred to ECM PCM etc, if that is what your looking for it is inside the engine bay on the RH side (passenger) inner fender right about in the middle you will find a aluminum box with about 4 plugs plugged into it.

Hi, i have doge durango 2001, how often do i need to change the spark plugs?

Hi noe-
assuming your 2001 Durango has a 5.7l Hemi powerplant, there are 2 spark plugs per cylinder that Dodge recomends changing every 30K miles. Of course they suggest you use Mopar plugs.

Thanks for the question & hope this helps...

Spark plugs

You'll have to remove part of the upper intake. Remove the coils one at a time. The spark plugs are located under the coils.
