Dodge 1500 pickup 4 door 2002 4.7engine

The truck while driving went into overheating without any prior warning.
I do not think I had enough notice and the temperature gauge was in the red H zone. This was the day we had reached 100 degree temperature in New Jersey a few days ago. We have replaced the water pump, thermostat, we are thinking of a new coolant storage , but it still starts to overheat soon after starting the engine and driving for a few minutes. Could
there be any other damages to the engine, what can we do.

I have an '04 quad-cab and at 70.000 miles the radiator stopped up like it had concrete in it. I had it rodded out and flushed the engine and it did it again at 104,000 miles, this time overheating pretty badly before I realized it. I bought a new radiator and then had a blown head gasket. $2200 worth of unnecessary damage. This is a very common problem with these vehicles. The radiators are ****. I dont know of a Toyota or Nissan commonly doing this. No wonder Chrysler is going down.

Check your radiator cap and also check your fan, the fan might not be working. I have the same truck, my problem it last night my vacuum hole from my transfer cases broke off some how and don't know where it fits into. Can you check your truck and tell me where the line leads to, it would be a great help to me.

Have your radiator checked out. I've seen radiator problems with these trucks. Check the operation of your cooling fan as well. Hope this helps.

2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 4x4. What fuse runs the 4x4 please?

It isn't specified. There is more than one fuse that covers transmission. You would need an auto electrician or a transmission expert to connect a pro grade scan tool computer and diagnose if the switch or solenoid is faulty. A scan tool at this level is bi-directional and can command solenoids to operate and confirm that they do.

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4, when I have the truck in 4 wheel drive it fights me when trying to turn. When I try to turn the front gets tight, pops and at times bucks. I think it maybe the U joint but...

Normally manual 4X4 vehicles will jump and buck when turning. When you engage the transfer case to direct power to the front axle it locks the front differential. When driving on dry asphalt there is sufficient traction to cause lurching while turning . In snow ,mud or on wet asphalt there is enough slippage that you won't notice the lurching. In these vehicles the 4X4 is intended for use when driving conditions warrant it, and for normal driving conditions it should be driven in 2WD only.

I have a 2004 Chevrolet 1500 extended cab 2 wheel drive pickup. The ABS and Brake warning light comes on all the time . Also the cruise control quit working. The heater fan does not run either. I think...

The e-brake cable may need to be adjusted. The brake warning light could be coming on for even low fluid but the ABS light most lilley is a speed sensor. The best thing to do is connect a scan tool or code reader to see which sensor is causing the issue. Unfortunately, I think you need to diagnose one thing at a time and if its too much, take it to a local shop :)

1993 Chevy 1500 pickup 4-wheel drive

I replaced the malfunctioning “thermal actuator” with the “Warn” Vacuum actuator setup, it’s been working great for about 7 years now, simple install, if I remember correctly, it was about $150.
That’s what engages the front diff into 4wd.
