Hello,
I am need of help with my 1996 discovery. I recently just changed the fuel filter several days ago because it was running sluggish as if it was having a fuel supply problem. It fixed that issue but when the car sits over night I have problems starting up it. The past three days it will take 20 to 30 minutes to start in the morning. Today it will not start at all I am not sure if the engine has gotten to much fuel, not enough fuel or if the problem is with the fuel injectors or fuel pump. I will appreciate any troubleshooting advice on what to check myself to eliminate each possible area.

Hello , i work for a land rover dealer and to be honest i to am having problems with my discovery 1, but yours you need to start simple ie fuel filter which you have done then glow plug don't cost much then see what your fuel lift pump is like, have you checked the cracking amps of the battery , some of the fuel pipe banjo bolts have tiny filter mite be worth checking hope this helps
Could be IAC valve or TSP throttle postion valve. Fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator.

Make sure there is voltage going to the fuel solenoid on the pump, i did the same with my landrover and it just would not start or would start and just cut out, turned out to be the wire going to the fuel solenoid was not working, just re-wired from a wire behind the dash board that supplied enough voltage, that when the landrover had started the wire then supplying voltage.
Just check by putting a multimeter on the fuel solenoid wire and turn the engine over if the voltage drops to below 12v then it`s most likely the same problem i had.
If its a diesel engine.... then u need to change 4pieces of the heater plugs.heater plugs helps warm the engine for a easier start in the morning or during cold days...

your problem is from computer or from the electricity of the fuel pump maybe their is no more enough electricity is coming to her

The fuel filter is mounted to the frame just ahead of the right rear tire. You can see it through the wheel well. The fittings are very likely to be frozen so I would soak them with some penetrating oil before you try to loosen them. if it is not starting however, I would focus more on the ignition system, the ignition module near the coil in the front left side of the engine compartment may be bad.
