1996 GMC Jimmy the back hatch door will not open. I tried remote button, button on dash, and manually by inserting key and trying handle from inside. What could fix this?

I have solved my problem The back hatch has a motor or actuator that has a blue conncetor clip on it that was broken my problem. To get back hatch to open, pull back on top of door cover in middle where it rises. You will break 1 little clip. Wedge the door cover back and take your finger or screwddriver and push towards passenger side and it will release the glass window. Then you cna open door and take the cover off door and repair the little part. It is called a window actuator retainer clip. YOU can get at Advance, Napa. If your actuator is bad, Just replace it. I solved my own problem.

You can try disconnecting the battery cable then try to openit with the key There is an electrical switch they call it the actuator its inside the tailgate trim panaland easy to replace This sounds likely to be what your problem is the switch may be shorted and in lock mode all the time

How to open a stuck Back hatch on 2007 Suburban?

Open Stuck Back Hatch

How to open a stuck Back hatch on 2007 Suburban?

There are a few things you can try to open a stuck back hatch on a 2007 Suburban:

Check the battery in the keyless remote. If the battery is low or dead, the remote may not have enough power to release the latch.

Check the latch itself for any debris or obstruction that may be preventing it from releasing.

If the latch seems to be working properly, try manually releasing it by pulling on the emergency release handle inside the vehicle.

If none of the above steps work, it may be a problem with the power liftgate module or actuator and you should take it to a mechanic or dealership for further diagnosis and repair.

Lubricate the hinges of the hatch door with a silicone-based lubricant to ensure the door opens smoothly.

Outback 2009 the rear hatch door won't unlock..doesn't seem to mater what combination of opening/closing the other doors with the remote.

Does it make any noise - like it's trying to unlock? If so, push DOWN on the hatch or Pull UP while unlocking w/the remote in case it's stuck. If no noise, verify that there isn't a blown fuse - look in the Owner's Manual for the correct fuse and location (under the dash or under the hood).

Where is the dome light fuse located for 1996 gmc jimmy

There are two - one at the left end of the dash (with driver's door open) and one under the hood on the driver's side. Fuse details are on the inside of the covers.

How do you open the back door (no manual)

Rear hatch is locked or unlocked with a key. (if equipped) • To open the rear hatch, insert the key into the lock, turn it to the unlock position and pull up the rear hatch by pressing the handle (DOOR). You can also lock/unlock the latch (but not release it) with the central door lock system. • If unlocked, the rear hatch can be opened by pressing the handle (DOOR) and pulling the hatch up. • To close the rear hatch, lower and push down the rear hatch firmly. Make sure that the rear hatch is securely latched.

How can I remove the rear latch from the hatch door?

Solution: you need the valet key and there should be a way to open it from the inside -jeff ps please rate , i have had the same problem many times with my mercury villager. one thing i have found to work on more than one occasion is while it is closed, push the back hatch as if you were shutting it. hit the lock button ( either on remote or inside of van ). then push the handle out on the hatch to make sure it will catch all the way. unlock the doors and pull on the handle, the hatch should open with no problem. , if it is electronic check the fuses first. if not electric spray with WD-40 in key hole and around button

I can't lock the rear hatch door on my yukon. There is no key lock and the remote button locks all the other doors but the rear hatch remains unlocked. Also the button on the inside of the vehicle does not...

The lock is stuck in the "locked" position.
When you close the hatch, it is jamming the latch hook into the wrong area.

Manually open the hatch. Unlock the hatch (even tho the hatch is already open). there are two bolts holding the metal "loop", the loop has moved. Adjust the metal loop and close the hatch / lock it, etc.

My back hatch door doen't want to open

You need to climb in the back and remove the plastic panel from the hatch to access the lock. There may be a small access door over the locking mechanism to help you avoid removing the whole thing. Could be dirty and sticky and fixable with a bit of graphite lube.
