I have a 1988 chev S10 truck.Lately ive had a problem with power and acceleration. It has no where near the power it had before. Also when starting the engine it sometimes takes 10 to 15 seconds to begin running normally. Also on a regular idle it seems to be fine.I have installed a new fuel filter and also new plugs and wires. The problem im having is on the road at normal speeds or accelartion. This problem just begin about a month ago and im stil trying to solve it.Also the check engine light is not on and I have checked all vaccuum lines. Please help If you can
Most Appreciated.

From your description, and the fact the Check Engine light isn't on, I'm not too inclined to suspect the EGR valve.
On a 20 year old engine, things I would check.
Oxygen Sensor (Normally replaced at about 100,000 miles, it may be causing the engine to run rich.)
Engine timing. If the timing slips and becomes retarded, the engine will idle well but will not accelerate.
If you have a distributor equipped with a vacuum advance, if it is not advancing the timing on acceleration it will be laggy.
How about the carbs ?

Thanks, this engine only has about 20kmiles.
I havent checked the oxygen sensor, but would,nt the engine light come on if that were the problem.I will also check the timing advance.
Thanks
