Classic signs of coolant in the oil and since heads were repaired and sealed, it could be a cracked block.
Coolant is mixed in oil and coolant impedes lubrication of engine thus hard to turn over and start.
One last hope is to drain crank case, refill with fresh oil and new filter.
Add Barr's leak "copper" )(looks like liquid copper and costs about $10) sealant to coolant fluid. Run the engine a few times to full warm up, each time observing for tell-tale white smoke from exhaust. Check dipstick level between each cycle.
If problem subsides, go buy a lottery ticket as you're very lucky. If not, a new engine or short block is on the menu.
Good Luck

Could be a plugged catalytic converter or a plugged fuel filter, run an exhaust back pressure test, any muffler shop will do this, most times for free, the other thing to do is have the fuel pressure tested under a load, also clean the MAF sensor, a little dirt on the sensor wire wrecks havoc, You didn't leave anything in the intake runners did you? have seen seasoned technicians do this more than once.
SOURCE: how to change the flasher
go to the trunk, remove the plastic nut holding the trunk interior skin in place (the nuts are the plastic that the trunk net hangs on), the skin will pull away with a snap after that. Remove three bolts from the back of the taillight, the taillight assembley will slid out from the exterior of the car. Remove the wire assembly from the taillight, replace the bulb and put it back into the taillight. SLide the taillight assembly back in place, but the three bolts back on, snap the trunk skin into place, screw the plastic trunk net bolt back in.

If you are located in an area with one of the large chain auto parts stores such as Advanced Auto, Kragen, AutoZone, etc., give them a call and ask if they have the free code readout service.
They might be able to tell you in a minute where the problem is and we would only be able to speculate about it.
You didn't mention the color of the 'smoke' which means it could be steam vapor, gasoline or oil fog.
Each of those can give one a clue as to the nature of the problem.

First thing to do, (free of charge) is to look up under where filler hose runs to gas tank for any kinks in those hoses.
