There are a number of things that can cause a car/truck/suv to overheat! #1. bad thermostat. #2. partially clogged radiator. #3. faulty radiator cap. #4. bad clutch on fan,or bad electric fan,or bad fan relay. #5. blown head gasket. These are the most common among all types of vehicles,I did notice you said "quickly" overheats. If the car is totally cold and overheats within 3-5 min of starting up, that is a pretty good tell-tell sign of a blown head gasket. if it takes a while longer to overheat,check the other items i listed.( always start with easyer and cheeper items first and work your way up from there) hope this helps ya out....yz-maniac.

I've replaced the thermostat housing on a Ford Bantam 1.6 Rocam. The temp gauge is at half before I started. When I started it it went to the red very quickly. What could be the problem?
How fast is 'very quickly'? is it 2 to 3 minutes?, 10 minutes?, 30 minutes?, More? Did you replace the thermostat while you had the housing removed? It is always worth changing it at the same time as then you know there is a working one fitted. Are there any wire connections to the housing? Check you have reconnected it the correct way around.
Another cause could be a faulty water pump. If it isn't pushing the coolant around properly the engine will heat up very quickly. Is there a whine noise coming from the belt end of the engine? Are you getting any coolant leaks from that end of the engine?

Battery terminal gets hot quickly for Nissan cefiro
Any time there is a poor connection there will be heat. Removing the cable ends and cleaning the battery posts and cable ends with a battery terminal cleaner will likely solve your issue

How to replace the gas filter
The filter is located behind the gas tank. One end has a quick release coupler and the other end screws on. Adjustable wrench will get one end. More than one type of quick coupler is used. After you buy the filter, ask the auto parts store how it disconnects.

You did not give many specifications about the car. If the car is old enough I think the problem is with the heater core, it's restricting the circulation.
The stalling problem, could the fuel pump or ignition problem. Do you have any error code?

Heater knob will not turn all the way to heat
99 model and as such its a cable and i surmise that it could have the outer cable come adrift from its clamp ,but which end of the cable ?? no idea if i had vehicle in front me a quick fiddle and i would feel it but from afar ? sorry no idea which end is loose

Heat not working
Check to see if the heater core hoses going into the firewall are hot when the engine radiator hoses are hot. If one heater core hose is hot and other is cool, then the heater core is blocked/plugged. If they are both cold then the hoses are blocked. Trace them both back to the engine and make sure there is no on/off valve on the intake to turn on. Some of those valves are vacuum operated or electrical. Just depends. For a quick fix. You can remove that valve and install a screw in fitting to the intake manifold that has a barb on the end to slip a hose over. But the heat will always be on hot.

The AC works great but the heater will not put out heat. But the heater hoses shoe 140-160 degree heat. What might be the problem??

2000 Dodge Ram 1500, 3.76. Could you please tell me how a raidator would get messed up without being in an accident for a ram truck?
If its leaking out the tanks that is normal. Over time and thousands of heat expansions and cool down contractions it has to happen. The aluminum can also errode from both the inside and outside causing leaks. Typically at each end where the cooling tubes are joined to the end caps.

If it is misshapen somehow I would speculate that the truck was loaned out to a buddy who then said "hold my beer and watch this" which was then followed with a quick search for some used cosmetic parts that where quickly replaced?

My car is over heating, also when I turn the heat it blow out cold air. What should I do?
Sounds like the thermostat may be bad, which means the coolant isn't getting into the engine block and heater. Does the heat gauge ever go really high and then drops back to normal quickly? If so, the thermostat is the quick and easy fix.

99 grand am gt overheating changed thermostat and
try priming the engine block & radiator with water though the hose's & any hose you can squeeze to pump out the air lock with the filler cap off when running, sounds too much air is is in the system & the pump won't work dry.
I had this problem a few times & I ended up practically forcing water into any hose I could re-attach quickly using a garden hose, as the heating system need's priming too !
