I just replaced the p/s brake light:
1. Pop off the tabs that cover the screws. (flat screwdriver)
2. Unscrew both screws. (philips-head)
3. There is a metal post attached to the light assembly located towards the front of the assembly pointing in towards the center of the car. This post fits into a rubber grommet that is attached to the car. I had to wiggle and rock the assembly to get the post free from the grommet and the assembly off the car, by pulling to the right.
4. Re-assembly requires lining up and inserting the post back into the grommet (use your best Beavis and ******** sound effect now). Put the screws back in and don't forget the covers.

This is almost correct...instead f straight back pull straight out from the side, right light, pull to the right, left bulb, pull to the left.
Worked great.

After lifting the tailgate and removing the two visible screws for the taillight you just need to pull the taillight straight back. There are two guide posts on the taillight that kinda lock into two plastic grommets.

JUST A FYI! THERE ARE PLASTIC CAPS COVERING THE SCREWS! THEY POP OFF WITH A SMALL SREWDRIVER THEN YOU CAN GET TO THE SCREWS THAT HOLD THE ASSEMBLY!!

SOURCE: ''96 Silverado no tail lights.

if that doesn't help, you might want to check the bulbs. the damage might have shorted which burned out the bulbs. but you do have one wire that runs to the rear and splits off to the tail lights. the wire should run back to the head light switch via a fuse. the headlights have its own relay. but i hope it is just a fuse.

SOURCE: My 2006 Chevrolet equinox cooling fans and front

I would find the circuit breaker relay that supplies power to whichever power distribution box that contains the cooling fan relays. If the box has power, then you may want to consider the following: I feel that if you find out why the fans quit working, then you may also have solved the front turn signal issue.

Electric Fan(s) not working, Checking the fan(s), relay, fuse and engine temperature sensor's.
Verify that the fans work by unplugging them and run jumper wires to the fan(s) from the battery. If they run, your problem lies elsewhere. If either does not run, it's the motor.
Next thing to check is for power at the fan connectors. You have to be cautious doing this because the engine needs to be running and warm if not almost hot, and the A/C also needs to be on. (Both must be on and running for the duration of this checklist.) The A/C fan is on the passenger side and should come on almost the instant the A/C is turned on. It is also the secondary engine cooling fan and should cycle on and off in relation to engine temperature, (If the A/C is OFF). Use a test light to probe the two wires on each fan. If you find power, the fan motor(s) is/are probably bad. If there is no power to fans, roll up your sleeves!

The temperature switch is usually located above the oil filter. If the dash gage is working, its probably OK. Next is the Fan Control Temperature Sensor, located IN or CLOSE to the thermostat housing. You will find out if it is working later is this checklist. I just wanted you to know where it is. Next is the relays and fuse's. Usually located in the engine compartment on the passenger side power distribution box. You will need to remove anything over the cover to open it. If the fuses are OK, tap on the relays or pull them out and push back in. If the fans are still not running, pull a relay and probe the socket terminals for power. Two of the terminals should have power, usually criss-cross from each other. One hot terminal is battery power, and the other is the "signal" voltage which triggers the relay to send 12V battery power to the fan. This signal voltage comes from the sensor at the thermostat. If only one terminal has power, then I would replace the sensor at the thermostat, if not both sensors.

2011 Kia Sorento passenger side brake lights not working

Light bulbs require power and ground in order to work. The ground circuit for the left rear combination lamp is shared between the turn lamp, stop lamp and tail lamp. Because the tail light still works in that specific combination lamp, we know that the shared/common ground for that assembly is OK. The power circuit for both stop lamps (left and right) have the same origin; voltage flows from the STOP LP FUSE (15A) through the DBC RELAY (when the stop lamp switch is pressed) and then to each stop lamp via their respective circuit branches. Because the right stop lamp works, we know that the shared/common fuse, relay and switch are all OK. I'd suspect an open in the left stop lamp power supply branch and would recommending checking for voltage on the green & black wire at the left rear combination lamp assembly to confirm. Regarding the left lamp on the hatch, the wiring diagram indicates these are not stop lamps rather tail lamps only. I'd recommend installing a tail lamp bulb instead of a brake light bulb into that assembly as a first step. 2006 trailblazer, i have no: tail, plate, parking/ running lights.

The only thing I can think of is corrosion inside the lamp socket due to repeated condensation. Can you unscrew your tail light assembly as if you are going to replace the bulbs? Usually a push in, quarter turn to pull the bulb out, then inspect the inside socket. Use sand paper then paper towel to remove it. Some folks use lemon juice on the paper towel. Re-insert and have some press brake pedal. A whole new assembly is only $30 or so.

Have no users manual and i'm not sure how you would replace the light bulb on the brake light

Change the Rear Brake Lights
  • Open the trunk and twist the retaining wing nuts off the studs holding the carpeted trim cover in place on the back side of the tail lamps.
  • Pull the carpeted trim cover out of the way and pry the plastic caps out of the holes with the screwdriver tip.
  • Unbolt the nuts holding the tail-lamp assembly in place using the socket set.
  • Pull the tail lamp assembly away from the body of the Stratus. Grab the socket for the bulb in question and twist it counterclockwise to remove it. Pull the old bulb out by hand and insert the replacement bulb. Reinstall the socket in reverse of removal.
  • Push the tail lamp assembly back into position and tighten the nuts back down onto the retaining studs using the socket set. Pop the plastic caps back into the holes, pull the carpeted trim cover back into position and reinstall the plastic wing nuts. Close the trunk.

Brake lights on tail don't work, upper one does.

There is a recall on the tail lights from GM. The problem I found on mine were faulty contacts that would burn out the bulb contacts in short order after replacing the bulbs. So even if you replace the bulbs they will only work for a short while before they burn out. Take it to a GM dealer to get the complete tail light assemblies replaced.
