Its a 2003 Chrysler Sebring, sedan, 2.4L X-model and my crankshaft position sensor is defective. I'm trying to replace it myself and can't find where its located on the engine to replace it. Is there any way you can help me out, i had my motor replaced 7 months ago and then my transmission went out and just had that replaced, so its put a pretty big hole in my pocket and that sensor is the only thing thats keeping me from being able to drive it. Is there any advise you can give me or even any diagrams on where its at so i can get my car back on the road?

I do believe it is located on top the the transmission bellhousing and there is a small adjustment so when u install the new sensor dont just push it all the way down and tighten it up cut a small piece of cigarette package paper perfent thinkness and stick it to the end of the sensor with grease then puch it all the way till it stops then tighten this will leave a gap big enough so that the sensor it right a gainst the turning fly wheel. if u do not gap it it will break the sensor

SOURCE: Where is the fuel filter located on a 2004 Chrysler Sebring Sedan

Some of the Sebrings have two filters(one is called a sock).The sock(which all sebrings have) is located in the fuel tank itself on the pump module.If this model is the JXI then the external filter is located on the belly of the car between the tank and drivers rear seat. I hope I could help!!!

2003 sebring 2.4l ck engin light on code po340 can you help

P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction

This indicates that a problem was detected in the camshaft position sensor circuit. Since it says circuit, that means the problem could lie in any part of the circuit - the sensor itself, the wiring, or the PCM. Don't just replace the CPS (camshaft position sensor) and think that will definitely fix it.

Symptoms can include:
* Hard starting or no start
* Rough running / misfiring
* Loss of engine power

Causes: A code P0340 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
* a wire or connector in the circuit could be grounded/shorted/broken
* the camshaft position sensor may have failed
* the PCM may have failed
* there exists an open circuit
* the crankshaft position sensor may have failed

Possible Solutions: With a P0340 OBD-II trouble code, diagnosis can be tricky at times. Here are some things to try:
* Visually inspect all the wiring and connectors in the circuit
* Check for continuity in the circuit wiring
* Check the operation (voltage) of the camshaft position sensor
* Replace the camshaft position sensor as required
* Check the crankshaft position circuit as well
* Replace circuit wiring and/or connectors as required
* Diagnose/replace the PCM as required

Test it and keep us updated.

No fire at distributor

The 1997 Chrysler Sebring 2.5L has a distributer with an intergrated coil. All other models have a distributerless ignition ("coil packs").

Start by testing the ASD (Automatic Shut Down) relay, then the CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor) and CMH (Camshaft Position Sensor).

The CMH test the same way likethe CPS; the ASD is located on cowl, at left rear of engine compartment.

Hope helps.

2005 Chrysler Sebring - engine stumbles and won't excel. and has the engine codes P0016, P0300, P0339

I wasn't able to find out the first engine code, but the other one is a multiple or random misfire. and crankshaft position sensor a circuit. If the car has a distributor you could tried replacing the cap rotor and also wires first. Next you would look at the crankshaft position sensor try unplugging and plugging it back in. Look at the connection and wires to make sure they look OK. If you do not know how to test this you could also just replace the sensor. Good luck.
