I think you can reuse the gasket (rubber) just take out the bolts and position it out of the way enough to get plugs in and out. Be sure to replace the timing belt, tensioner and water pump at 90k miles....or youll be sorry.

How do i remove intake manifold on 2005 pt cruiser 4 cylinder to get to spark plugs?

Hi Bob I'm glad to help!

Bob, first, unplug all electrical connectors from the throttle body. Then if equipped take the bolts out of the EGR Tube at the back side near the throttle body. Next, there one bolt that goes through a bracket right next too the EGR Tube. Then remove the bolts that are facing downward on the intake. Then pull it up and outward toward you. The gaskets are reusable, so put it back in reverse procedure. NOTE: Sense you're already there save yourself from having to redo the job by replacing the spark plug wire too. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Bob.

2008 pt cruiser - check engine light came on, within minutes it started to "power down" and and died. Won't start. What could cause this? BTW have changed spark plugs, camshaft sensore, cranks

My PT did that when my timing belt broke. It cost $500.00 to replace it. If it is broken, be ready to have some motor work done. I had to have to values replaced at a cost of $900.00. If your timing belt is not broken then check the alternator and battery. I was riding down the road and my PT shut all the way down and would not start. I had to leave it beside the road. It was my alternator. It gave me no warning.

Need informtion removing the Intake Manifold on 2002 PT Cruiser to replace plugs and wiring

Removing the intake is no prob. on these. Assuming this is a non turbo model, you remove the two bolts holding the egr tube flange at the back of the intake. You will have a couple wire clips you need to dissconect and small vacum hoses that will be easily noticable as you try to move the intake aside, but there is a row of small bolts at the front inbetween the intake rails holding the upper intake to the lower. Seperate the manifold by removing these bolts. it has rubber gaskets that stay right with the manifold you do not need to replace at reassembley. This will allow you to move it far enough to change the plugs. Hope this helps.
