2005 Chevy Cobalt that stalls at stop lights/signs. Only stalls out when at operating temp. When cold, idle is erratic while stopping, but not as pronounced as when warm. Have tried replacing spark plugs with no new issues, also replaced fuel filter, again, whit no new issues. Neither made it better or worse. Need to do this inexpensively, if at all possible. Thank you.

Clogged air filter and dirty throttle body.

3 possibilites , dirty throttle body, idle air control motor or the EGR valve , either one will cause that problem

Mass air flow sensor. Can be cleaned before you buy a new one

It can be issue with IAC( idle air control valve) causing the problem.

first check the throttle plate for carbon build up the look for the knock sensor harness rubbing onto the fan shroud

Had the same problem with mine. Check and clean your throttle body, as well as all hoses leading from you air filter all the way to the engine. Took a bottle of carb cleaner, a rag, and some q-tips.
