Hello, This is the same mechanic as you had earlier. The Ignition switch would still be a good place to look at. Just check to see what the Terminals on the switch are really doing when the Key is in different positions.

The turning of the Key initiates both the ECC and the ECA. The ECA will shut down first(times out) and then the ECC will shut down because it needs to sense the ECA is working. But on your car the fuelpump is continuing to run. This would mean it is getting continuous power.

Your ECC RELAY is probably toast and is continuing to supply power to your fuel pump. This would be a part that you would replace. Check your Ignition switch positions anyway.

We are going to fix this car Yet.
    1. In order to rule out the Ignition switch, is it possible to remove the electric connector on the Ignition switch WHEN the car will not shut off?
    2. Did you have the Battery disconnected(NEG) when you worked on the switch?
    3. All info from sites says to remove and replace the Ignition switch in the RUN position. Was that done in the proper position?
    4. The Ignition switch "cues" the EEC Relay to connect the power. If the EEC is relaying power without getting "cued" and without the Ignition switch harness even being connected, then the EEC relay must be shorted.
    5. A link with more than you wanted to know. JustAnswer.com/uploads/S420/2010-01-07_192816_97T-bird_Steering_column.pdf
    6. Would like to know what the result is, just use reply or comment. Good Luck.

Can be a failing coil pack if you can move the coil pack to a different cylinder and then see if the code changes if it moves to the cylinder you moved it to then replace the coil pack should take care of the issue

I seen a comment of yours on another ? about brake fluid contamination and my 05 silverado has all brakes locking up. i had put power steering fluid in once a couple months ago due to a line blow-out to...

Well, all rubber seals/components will have to be replaced this includes but not limited to calipers, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, ABS unit... and the system most be flushed. The used of petroleum based fluids is a no no cause the rubber components in the system are not compatible therefore causing the rubber to swell and the brake system to fail.

My 91 honda civic has alot of white smoke coming out of the exhaust, and have oil on the spark plug in the #3 cylinder not sure what the problem is (bad vaulve/seal)??? one month prior to problem blew...

I'll tell you what few might be problems
Oil on spark plug could be:

1. bad cylinder rings 2. value seals
For Value Seals you will take off head again and then take off value over. Take all (Lifters or Cam) and springs off and you will see seal rings in each of values.
For cylinder rings, you will maybe need to take motor out and take head off, oil pan and rod bearing unbolts to get cylinder out to replace new rings. Or you can try do that without motor out. just take oil pan off under the car.
Try change oil with 1 qt of Lucas Oil and 4 or 5 normal oil. Best oil is Castol High Mileage
Lucas Oil should help stop leaking oil inside the cylinder. Or another kind bottle called (Stop Smoke) at auto store.

Fuel pump keeps failing

check the fuel pressure first with a gague the pressure should be at 40-47 psi
does any other things stop working when the pump stops?
it sounds like you have a short to ground in the fuel pump circut, check the circut for any chaffed wires.... there is a fuse in the fuse box there is not supposed to be one on thr frame rail
another possibillity is a clogged fuel filter making the pump work harder and overheating
check pressure wires and replace the filter one of these is your problem
let me know dant forget to rate me
