97 Mercury Mystique V 62.5 overheating. able to run 45 minutes before it does. only cold air coming out of vents coolant temperature gauge maxed out even when cold. suspect engine stat. does anybody...

If there is cold air coming out the vents than its not a thermostat. The thermostat gullets the temperature of the engine not the temp of the heater which bypasses the thermostat. If there is never any heat out the vents than there are two possibilities. The coolant level is to low. The first thing you will notice if the coolant level gets to low is the lack of heat out t

My 99 chevrolet monte carlo z34 heat is not that hot and air works for defrost but not dash vents?

check radiator fluid level it take hot radiator fluid to pass through the heater core to produce the heat in your car VIA the fan. also check or replace your thermostat it could be bad and stuck in an open position thus radiator fluid not getting hot, no hot fluid no hot air
the other problem sounds like a duct hose under you dash has come loose locate and reattach.

I have a 2000 Mercury Grand Marques LS, the air conditioner started blowing really hot air and couldn't get it to adjust up or down had to turn it off, then (after the weather cooled down) when I turn the...

Sounds more like a control valve is not working correctly.. probably stuck in one position because you should always have heat from your heater core...like when you chose fresh air or recirculated air...it switches a valve to allow the change...well from cold to heat there's a valve also that switches the vent inside dashboard

Blower is only blowing vent air no heat, was working yesterday now is not.

radiator full? Thermistat stuck open. extremely cold and too much air flow on radiator.?Does it over heat at all? Back flush heater core and radiator and replace fluids, block off part of radiator in extreme cold areas. Check controls to be sure they are opening and closing correctly

2003 Grand Prix not blowing hot air. Does the heater coil need to be replaced? If so where is it located?

If the heater coil was bad, it would be leaking radiator fluid... probably into your dash/floorboard (depending on where it is installed in your model car). There is a switch that diverts the hot radiator fluid through the heater coil when you want heat. There is also an air diverter valve that helps to mix the hot and cold air. The fluid valve is controlled by the A/C settings control. The one that you use to choose between heater/air conditioner/vent/ defrost. The air diverter is controlled by the temp mixing controller. The most simple explanation is that one of those valves or the controller of one of those valves is not working. If the hot water cant be diverted through the heater coil, the coil can't exchange the heat (warming the air). If the air diverter (hot/cold controller) cant move to add heat, then all you will feel is air from the vent side (from outside) or from the A/C cooling the air.

I would guess that its either a controller or one of the valves themselves. Odds are, it is a controller. That tends to be what malfunctions first.

Car will not heat. Blows out cold air

Firstly check the coolant level when the engine is cool. If fluid is at correct level then more then likely thermostat is stuck open. Have coolant system flushed before installing new thermostat. Also check water pump to make sure it is not leaking out of the weep hole.

A/C only from center vent. Heat from side vents and floor vents.

sounds like the blend motor from hot to cold is stuck open half way allowing both temps to come into the car.

Heater blowing clod air

the heater core behind the dash may be bad, it is the coolant tank for the heater system that is to say it is where the heat comes from. kinda pricey to have repaired at a dealership, if you can hear the fan turning but no heat, than it is a good possibility, or a vent hose has fallen off, get down and check under the dash
