On the 2.0 it calls for 2.7 hours so if hes charging $125 per hour that's about right the gasket costs about $4.00 as it's just a tube of silacome. why does the oil pan need a new gasket unless it's been removed for some other reason it's not lily to leak. the valve cover is known to leak as is the oil presure switch. niether one rrequire removing tohe oil pan. the super charged 2.0 is different but about the same time the oil cooler lines are also known to leak and they need to be inspceted to see if just tightneng them or has the rubber started to fail and they need to be replaced.

i told you I was worried about it needing an oil pan job of any kind. Theres other leaks that are much more likly and cheaper to fix. My shop charges $60 per hour but it's unlikly that the oil pan is leaking unless it's been removed for some other service. the valve cover is more likly to leak. Just take the car to a different mechanic, and have them verivy that the pan is the leak and not something else. If the rear main seal were leaking it requires removeing the engine from the transmission and that job might cost $400
