2005 Nissan Maxima. The heater does not seem to respond to temp settings anymore. It is blowing cold air, regardless of settings. Fan seems fine. With the weather suddenly changing to very cold outside-- this is a problem as it will not defrost the windows. Any idea if there is a quick fix?

The most obvious first place to look is at the heater coil. Sounds like it's history.

SOURCE: Nissan Altima no cool air blowing or hot air blowing

Hi!
It appears we have an Air lock scenario and you will need to perform a system Bleed.
Park the vehicle on level ground, when cold remove coolant filler cap, start engine and leave to idle, turn heater on full and blower to max. When engine reaches operating temperature watch and listen near coolant filler, keep clear as gurgling and hopefully a boil over should occur. Top up with very warm coolant and wait as it may do it again.
Check for heat inside vehicle if warm replace coolant cap but keep an eye on temperature gauge as the ~Air lock may have moved on from heater matrix/core so proceedure needs to be carried out again from COLD.

SOURCE: Would like to recharge my air conditioning on my 2001 nissian maxima that has 117,000 on it blows hot air when air conditioning is turned on.

You will need R134a, and a filler hose. Charge the system on the low pressure side, it should have a blue cap on the charge point.
Your filler hose will only fit the low pressure side, just in case the cap has been removed.

97 Nissan Maxima heat still blowing when AC is on

No heat just cold air

Is the gauge showing the engine is warming up to normal temp ?
Are the heater hoses getting hot ?
If the heater core is getting hot, it could be a blend door problem. The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and the ac evaporator among other things.

No heat from a/c

Most likely a faulty heater tap not allowing engine coolant to flow into heater core, check the heater tap for correct operation.

Driver's side air blowing warm, won't change

Sounds like there is a crack in the vent that leads to the drivers side, and hot air from the engine is leaking through.

How to replace thermostat on

Do this when cool. Take radiator cap off, start the engine, turn on heat (not defrost) and now top up coolant to about an inch or 2 from top of radiator, as level drops down, and let vehicle run until the radiator fan comes on, then off, about 3 times, and add coolant as needed while it's running. After that, put radiator cap back on tight & make sure return bottle is filled to proper level. Now try that & see how heat is, temperature gauge etc, and keep an eye on return bottle level for a while. Let me know how it is.

Heater blowing cold air

My 05 sentra with 79k miles heat will warm up and then get cold after a mile of driving, we have tried to get the air pocket out, the mechanic stated he thought it could be a blown head gasket, another mechanic said it was a bad heater core. Any advice would be appreciated.
