My Opel corsa Lite 1.4i, 2005 model cuts off when idling or stopping. I've replace the ignition coil as it was suggested but the next day the problem continued. I've replace plugs, filters, ect. When I'm approaching a place where i have to stop i see lights on dashboard coming out and the engine goes off if i stop or if i put the second gear it kicks again. Please assist as none of mechanics in my area know where to fix now.
Hi there
Sorry didn't realize I hit 'send'. I drive a 2006 Corsa Lite 1.4 and have exactly the same problem. Not only that but the fuel consumption on the car is terrible, especially for a Corsa. If anything I make 440km to a full tank. Have you been able to sort the problem out with yours? I've been to and spoken to countless people and mechanics, all with different opinions and none of which have worked out right. Please advise me if you can.
Sometimes when the car cuts there is a distinct smell of petrol.
I have this same issue too. They said its the valve that is misfiring. Im taking it in on monday, the stalling as well, I wiill let you know if this will fix it.
Hi Leora. Have you sorted out the problem? I have the same problem!

Nice motor for work and shopping ,try the idle control valve ,its a steper motor in the side of the monopoint injection housing (looks like a carb body) at the front right side is a round motor looking thing with a multiplug with 4 wires in it ,held in with two torq headed screws ,take it out and clean it but do not twist it or force it in any way
I have the same problem with my 2006 CORSA LITE, It goes off when im stopping at he traffic light, i put in major service on it replace shrottle body now i tried changing the ignition coil i wanna see wats gonn happen now.
This corsa we replaced a petrol pump because it was cutting petrol sumtimes and then after that it start n idle for seconds n it cuts then we put back d old one n it does the same help me
Hi yes this can be caused by crank pulley key way, however i found this issue on a few opel's, and some was caused by diffrent issues, but same symptoms, some had bad fuel regulator, some crank pulley key ways issues, some idcv units. but then i found one caused by airways been blocked in throttle body and another was in fact caused by fuel relay, also one had a faulty ECU.
so this needs to be inspected individually as it could be several issues. 0740784593 Johann
Have your mechanic look at the bottom timing gear. What happens is the key-way that keeps the gear in place breaks off and this then causes the timing to offset.
I have a opel vita 1.2 16V. The engine cuts off just a few minutes after starting. Has anyone have this problem?
