If it smeels sweet, like syrup, and the windshield fogs up, it may be a heater core.

How do you get access to the dash fan. There are mice in there someplace ?

Some times the odor comes from the condensation after running the A/C...Run your heater on high for a few minutes, to dry out the condensation...I had this problem with my vehicle.. This did the job...Good Luck! And GOD BLESS !

Hi I have a 2005 mazda 3.. My problem is when I turn the car on my blower comes on but no heat.. As I drive my car after 5 mins my heat comes through the vents.. Any solutions??

The heat that you get from the car's heater is extracted from the engine coolant. When you first start the car, the engine coolant is as cols as the outside air, if not colder. The running engine will heat the coolant after a few minutes and then you will start to feel the heat in the vehicle. The outside temperature and the thermostat in the car are the determining factors on how fast and how hot the coolant will get. On a really cold morning 3-5 minutes is not unreasonable.

Bad smell coming from heater/ smoke coming out vents

I had the same problem in my 98 Dodge Dakota! Replaced the heater core, problem solved. No more funky coolant smell and erie fog coming through my vents. I bought the heater core at rockauto.com online. Have purchased many items now from them. All factory parts so far at half the price of even AutoZone, even with the shipping. Also, you usually have to wait only a couple of days depending on the part and they have EVERYTHING.
