2005Danali youkon xl 6.litre...nu water pump n thermastat ,no heater...car over heats.

First start with making sure the engine is purged of air, and you have no thick white smoke coming from the exhaust in back. 2 sure signs of a blown head gasket are, thick white smoke. next is , leave the cap off the reservoir/radiator. If it throws the coolant back out at start up, it's bad. Not there, next is to do a compression test on the cylinders. Low or no compression is bad gaskets also. These are the first things to check and do. Before just throwing money at good parts.

I have a 2001 ford ranger. I am having trouble filling the gas tank. Vapors won't release and it takes a very long time to fill the tank. Is there a vent valve on the tank?

DEAR Frank,

ABSOLUTELY NOT (and with EXTREMELY good cause).

Your tank is specifically designed
to NOT LET VAPORS escape... If things are working
properly you ought to be hearing a SUCKING SOUND
when you pull off the gas cap...

Here in California... EPA folks go completely homicidal
at the notion of gas fumes (this being the STATE where we have BAY FRONT retirement centers for our GAZILLION deathrow inmates... (folks all queued-up for their last meal)...!!

((I'd spell *****-row correctly... but I don't believe it would get past our PC squads)).

Not only are they (vapors) harmful to the environment...
they are EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.

Beg, borrow or BUY the book and read up-on
VAPOR RECOVERY system... (TOTALLY).

Check your charcoal canister is not saturated... and
CONSIDER going to better GAS STATIONS.

Stop by your local FIRE house or US Coast Guard
duty station... And find out first hand how easy it is to strike up a conversation on the EQUIVALENT STICKS of DYNAMITE...
for a single ounce of PROPERLY VAPORIZED gas fumes.

It's all incredibly fast and fatal...
Get yourself completely QUALIFIED before you
create a serious disaster!!

Better still... hire a qualified (CERTIFIED) professional.

Large evap leak for 2001 ford focus

Probably nothing.
The code means the gas tank can not be sealed to prevent vapors from escaping.
Common causes are a missing gas cap when the engine is running, or a faulty hose from the tank to the vapor canister.

Where is the thermostat in a 2006 ford focus i ned to replace it

The upper radiator hose is connected to it. Follow the hose and youll find the thermostat housing. You may have to move the coil pack to get to the housing to change out the thermostat. I found a quick step by step here: http://www.ehow.com/how_4484915_change-thermostat-ford-focus.html
Hope this helps you...

Ford focus keeps stalling

I suspect it is a problem with the evaporative emission system. Basically, it collects vapors from the fuel tank and stores them in a charcoal canister in the engine compartment. It thens purges them into the engine when the engine is warm and running at road speed. You may be dumping too much vapor because your canister is filling with fule as well as vapor.

Do you try to "nurse" teh tank full at the fuel station? If yes, you may be flooding the canister.
Try just filling it 3/4 each time & see if problem goes away.

How to change thermastat on 1995 ford escort

Very easy. Locate upper cooling hose (about 2" diameter and black) going to the engine. The thermostat is located in the housing connecting this hose to the engine head. Usually two bolts to come off. Remove old thermostat AND gasket. New part will come with gasket and instructions on box. Very important!!! SPRING SIDE OF THERMOSTAT GOES TOWARDS ENGINE. MM85
