Do you have a guide to replace water pump to my dodge caravan 1996.
Alright, here's a pic of the mechanicals:
The bad news is on your vechile you have to remove the timing belt, but here's a step by step.
CAUTION
When draining coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted by ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or several years old.
To remove timing:
The timing belt can be inspected by removing the upper (front outer) timing cover.
To install:
Hope this helps.

Take off harmonic balancer
I own one of these. If it's a 3.5 engine, (original answer is incorrect, Dodge didn't make a 3.8 that year), you'll need to remove the entire front of the engine. (timing cover forward, because the waterpump is driven by the timing belt)
You'll have to remove the cross member over the radiator. Drain the radiator. Disconnect the transmission coolant lines, remove the radiator. Remove the serpentine belt, harmonic balancer (main pulley, and you'll need a puller, or you'll mess it up), remove the timing cover, remove the timing belt tensioner, remove the water pump. To put it back together, do it all in reverse with the following exceptions.
The timing belt tensioner must be closed in a vise, and held with a heavy pin.
Align both cam timing marks (they're on the top of the heads.)
Insert the tensioner and tighten it back up
It takes some patience, and a few tries, took me 5.
but that's all there is to it.
