My chk engine light came on and i went to autozone and they put it on there diagnostic machine and it came up to the code p0708 definition: my transmission range switch open circuit condition probable cause 1. open circuit condition 2. failed TR switch, another code was p1506 definition: Idle Air control system overspeed error probable cause 1.check engine for vacuum leaks 2.Damaged or misadjusted throttle body 3. Failed IAC valve, another code was p1744 definition: Torque converter clutch(TCC)solenoid-excessive slip probable cause 1.Low or dirty fluid condition 2. Poor electrical connection 3. Failed TCC solenoid valve 4.TCC faulty could someone please tell me what does all of that mean. Thank you in advance P.S. its a mazda 626 1997 v6 engine 2.0 liter

Your vehicle is driving good, not slipping etc... because what i can see from what im reading you have an electrical problem with the transmission wiring.. check the plugs that plug in the transmission, and follow them, im sure you will find something skint up somewhere.

2003 ford expedition, check engine light is on.
code scanners at autozone doesent really tell the problem, they are more of a guess than anything. best way to find the right one is take it to the shop and have it put on the computer to find the true problem and autozone should be able to tell you what sensors those codes stand for....hope this helps...

even though the light went off the code is stored in the computers memory.take it to autozone or a parts store and let them scan it and get a read out of the code that is stored.then post the code that is stored and i wil see if i can tell what might be wrong.

I'd go to an auto parts store that will check for any diagnostic codes free of charge (autozone and advance auto both do) and if you have any codes, list them here and I can tell you their definitions and the most common solutions to fix them in detail if needed

99 lexus es 300 chk engine and trac lock lite on
I had check engine light and TRAC OFF. OBD-II MIL code was P1133 which is Air Fuel Ratio Sensor Response Malfunction and scanned by AutoZone. After disconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes, the lights went off. I cleaned the gas cap and tightened it firmly. For the last 400 miles, the lights have not come back. When scanning using Snap-on one, no code was detected. I think gas cap was the reason for the lights.

First thing to remember autozone people ar not experts in the automative diagnostic world, if they were they would be earning 50 - 75,ooo per year as a technician, not 25,000 as a desk jockey. You need to go to a mechanic that has a computer to hookup to your car and tell you what the check engine light is on for. then you can fix the exact problem instead of poking around in the dark at the problem until you get lucky and have it fixed for a week or two,

Check engine light
My check engine light came on. i took my car to autozone and they will hook it up to a diagnostic machine to let you know the code that the engine computer is sending. In my case the thermostat had went out, so it needed to be replaced. just an idea.
