I have a 1996 nissan maxima, can't find wiring diagrams anywhere for the heated seats. The switches done turn on when switched and neither the passenger nor the driver's heated seats work. I figure it's a power problem, but I don't know where it comes from or where it's supposed to go. Is there anything "common" with these heaters for this car, that may be wrong?

SOURCE: Check Engine Light 1996 Nissan Maxima

There is a silver box underneath the center console, just to the right of the gas pedal.

Pull off the plastic cover (it has two plastic fasteners. It will go back on).

Peel back the plastic film covering the screw.

Put the key in and turn the ignition switch on, but do not strt the car (all the warning indicator lights should go on).

Turn the screw all the way clockwise for two or three seconds and turn turn it back. Repeat just to be sure.

Turn the key off. When you turn the key back on the Check Engine light should be off.

Replace the plastic film over the screw and replace the plastic panel.

2002 nissan maxima driver seat won't work all electric is it the motor or need a new seat

Have the switch tested for the seat and also verify the seat has power to the switch before you do any parts replacing. Power seats have more than one electric motor and it very unlikely that all would stop working. Go under the seat and locate the heavy connector that comes out of the rug and connects to the seat, using a 12 volt test light probe the connector and see that at least one of the heavy wires there is "hot", you may need the key on. If you find no power check owners manual for the location of the power seat fuses, they are likely under the hood. Good luck and hope this helped. Electrical wiring diagrams

Take your car or cars vin number to the local dealer. They will printout a light and electrical wiring diagram. While there - as about RECALLS - you will be amazed at the out standing recalls people pass over. d2aad15.gif

How do you replace the power seat circuit breaker on a 1996 nissan maxima?

There is a fuse box located under the dash on the right or left hand drivers side. Sometimes they even stick them in the glove box. Once you find the fuse box then on the cover or underneath the cover should be a diagram of the fuses installed and what they go to. For instance, your seats might say just that SEATS If not then just pull one fuse at a time and replace it in the same spot if good. You can tell if the fuse is bad by looking at the wire inside the fuse. It should be a solid one piece wire. if you see that it has a break or blck or melting then replace it with same amp fuse. the amps are on the fuse. Some times when a fuse blows it takes more then one with it. Go ahead and check them all to be sure.
Once done replace the cover. Please remember to give me a thumbs up for trying at my end. if you found no bad fuses then we can look into the seat moving switch. Keep me informed, Raz

Heater is not heating or blowing

If it is neither blowing nor heating then probably the fuse is blown. Check the fuse in the fuse box under the dash on the drivers side.
If that is fine then the problem could be in the switch. The wire may have come off.
