What is the best way to pull the old thermostat out of a 1987 ford bronco?

Wiggle the engine harness and see if the engine dies, do this everywhere that the harness has allot strain on it due to engine movement.

call pull and save at 509 921 8000 ask them to do an interchange for you give year make model engine size if auto or manual ac or not 2w drive or 4 they will answer your ???

pull the motor and change them out there should be two so change out both of them while you have the motor out

the inertia switch is located on the passenger side under the carpet up towards the firewall, pull the carpet back from the top middle and you will see it..

This has several possiblilitys, it could be the switch in the dash has gone out even if it does not work with the key in the tailgate. other possible item could be the window motor or a sensor that detects if the gate is up or down. check motor wires for power when the switch is activated by pulling off the panel on the tailgate, if it is getting power i would suggest replacing the motor. if not you may have to trace wires to the drivers side of the tail gate and find the sensor.i had to by pass mine a while ago. makes it much easier to clean the glass on the inside cause the window will roll up with the gate down.

remove the valve cover bolts. remove the valve cover. scrape off the old gasket material off the cover and the engine. put the new gasket in place and replace the bolts and tighten...dont over tighten.

The thermostat is located in the housing at the end of the lower radiator hose. It sits in part of the water pump. Hope this helps
