I need info on how to repair/ replace the clutch on my 1989 ford ranger

Bearings in transmission are bad .

It's the clutch or gears in the transmission. Not a cheap fix but cheaper than an automatic transmission.

I'll tell you like I tell everyone else, go to the local auto parts store, spend $25 on the repair manual for your truck and in the manual is a step by step procedure for replacing the clutch, P plate and bearing. This all entails removing the transmission. And a 1989 has a hydraulic clutch,and the slave cylinder is internal if I'm not mistaken, so why you have the trans removed you should also replace the slave cylinder because it'll be just your luck after you get it all back together the slave starts to leak.

Well the clutch did not break, the shifter or something in the transmission did.

There is a starter relay in the circuit in addition to the starter solenoid.
If you have replaced the components, I would guess the problem is in the harness or a connector.

after you take the transmission out you need to remove the clutch and there will be 6 bolts that hold the flywheel on once you take them out you'll be able to remove the flywheel

There is no adjustment to the ranger clutch as it is hydraulic if it is giving additional resistance in the peddle you probably need a new master or slave cylinder.

Check your throwout bearing and slave

Your clutch disk and pressure plate and throw out bearing need to be replaced.

no it doesn't come filled basically you bleed it like a brake system. Fill the master cylinder and pump the clutch, there is a bleeder on the slave cylinder
