Remove it completely or get a new one,alot of times they go bad believe me I have remove many it messes with your system on your car sometimes prevents you from starting vehicle.

1) Turn key from OFF to ON eight times within 10 seconds ending in the ON position.
2) After doors lock then unlock, press any button on the
remote being programmed.
3) The doors should lock/unlock to confirm programming.
4) Turn key to OFF and door locks should cycle one last time.

what is anti-theft light doing? It should come on solid for about 2 sec after you turn the key on then turn off. If it is flashing after this then it is not seeing the computer chip in the key and you have a PATS problem.
