Valves noise I own a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo, 6 cylinder engine. The valves are really loud. Can they be adjusted or do I have to have the cylinder head reconditionned.

we cant guess the engine, there are 2, 3.2L engines.

check the valve adjust and see if one valve is lower/higher than the rest. The valves are hydraulically adjusted and if the knock is really loud watch for a slight miss at rpm's. The only thing that will give a loud noise is a loose valve seat insert. You may pick it up with a compression test.

Plugs,wire,coils.

One way or another you have to get the head off to replace the valves. You may have cracked the head by the valves being bent.

These are hydraulic and need no adjustment.

May just need to adjust valves. Not sure about your oversized rings, if needed oversize should have been bored out for new pistons.

You either need to replace the rings or the Head needs work and valves need adjusting/replacing. Do a compression check to find out which is the case. If the compression is low on a cylinder and you add a couple of squirts of oil to that cylinder and it comes up then the rings are bad if not the valves are bad.

valve guides worn and tappet adjustment required, can check tappet adjustment first to see slightly better before removing heads and getting valve guides repaired/replaced on heads common problem
if raise revs to 1500-2000rpm and hold does clatter come and go come and go (valve guides) if there all the time tappet clearance issue
if there only under load (1st rev up) for a couple of times then stops possible big end bearing
all these are common for this engine
