2003 Oldsmobile Alero, cranks but won't turn over, the security light was not coming on and can not do the 10 min on fix because the security light does not blink (like before). The Service Engine light has been on continuesly for a while and then the oil light came on sometime the battery light. Oil does not need changing since it's not time. I am in desperate need of my car being fixed. Someone please help, Please! I have tried: hitting the fuel pump, 10 minute fix, 30 minute fix, key on,off, out 3 to 4 time, cleaning the key with dawn and blowing electronics pressurized air into ignition...anything else I am missing?

Security light is flashing. car will not start on my 2003 oldsmobile alero

I OWN a 2001 Olds Alero and the same thing happens to mine.. It's an easy fix..
1. Turn the Key to ACC (keep it in this mode for the entire 10 minutes).
2. The security light on the Dashboard will flash for exactly 10 minutes..
3. Once the 10 mins are over, the security light will stay solid..
Wait for the red light to disappear off the dashboard...
YOU ARE NOW READY TO TURN YOUR CAR OFF AND RESTART YOU CAR....

SIMPLE FIX..
I DO THIS ALL THE TIME TO MINE..

2003 Oldsmobile Alero will not start. Already replaced fuel pump and screen, spark plugs and wires, fuel filter and relay. What else could it be?

I have a 2003 alero that would not start. It was actually a security problem it locks itself up, there is a quick fix for it though you turn the car to the on position wait 10 min. turn it off for 5 sec. and then turn it over and it should start. Sounds to easy right, thats what I thought someone found it out for me online before I had to throw a bunch of money into it, like others have. HOPEFULLY this will work for you too.

I just replaced the starter in my 2000 olds alero and now it wont start it keep flashing securty....it thinks it is benig stolen....how can I fix this

Most likely you replaced the starter because it wouldn't crank over. If this is correct and the security light was flashing before replacing the starter, then most likely you have a problem with the pass-lock system. If your ignition cylinder is located in the dashboard, you will need to remove it and replace the passlock housing.

My 2001 oldsmobile alero will not start, I put gas and it would not crank over. Then the security light started flashing so I turned the key to the on poistion and was waiting 10 minutes and during that...

im just gonna take a stab in the dark here i understand that your security light is on try unlocking your door with your key sometimes you just need to reset the security. otherwise ive seen a security module go bad that may be preventing you from starting it.

We need to reset the computer on a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero

HI there if the scan tool you are using will not reprogram the theft module the try the 10 min relearn

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
  3. Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
  4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
  5. The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. Important: The vehicle learns the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle.
  6. Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or password.
  7. With a scan tool, clear any DTCs if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles
