Hi 01Wrench01, still a few problems, engine light does not come on at all, i've checked the wiring and all seems in tact, oil had been changed 3-4 months ago but is black from car running rich, its cranking & has turned over but pops & splutters battery has run flat now (sitting at 9.3v on my volt meter).

Hi PaulMo, thank you very much for your reply,.. engine has recently been to the engine rebuilders as I had a blown head gasket. But with the after market Microtech Ltx8 ecu the car has not been dyno tuned as yet which is why its running rich.

Battery had gone flat due to interior light being left on...lol the plot thickens haha...

apart from these dramas that i've stated, my check engine light does not come on at all, but oil light, hand brake light etc does, any ideas on what the source of the problem would be? I've checked the fuses, wiring etc but all was fine.

Story of how it all started is, I had just been out driving in it, came back home, went to clean the engine bay abit, stereo had been on for abit, not long tho & when I went to move the car it would'nt start, I then went to jump start with jumper leads & it would crank then pop & stutter/splutter, I put gas in it thinking my fuel gauge was faulty but all it did was idle weakly, backfire & splutter out. I have a aftermarket Sard Race fuel regulator & the gauge reading was 4.0/40psi? Is that normal? Also Fuel regulator links/piggy backs to the factory Mitsubishi fuel regulator that came with vehicle.

Prior to this, there were times where if I had stalled when car was warm or hot that my car would not turn over unless i let it cool abit or push started it.

Car was meant to be sold but it went crook out of the blue the day is was to be picked up.

Sorry to bombard you with this Lord of the Rings 5 script. Haha.

Thank you very much & I appreciate your help.

9.3 is a really dead battery - replace it and check the alternator. I have seen them go bad with no dash indication. As to the oil being black, you may have worn piston rings, and probably need an engine re-build. Worn rings allow the exhaust of the engine contaminate the oil - you should also see increased oil consumption due to the vapors exiting via the PCV valve and being burned in the engine.

1993 mitsi lancer 4g93t cd5a, installing manual boost controller

I'm not too sure if those are setup like the Eclipse turbo engines, but those cars came stock with a BCS(boost control solenoid). That solenoid maintained the stock boost on those cars. In the eclipses, you would have to leave the electrical part of that solenoid connected, yet remove the vaccuum hoses to install a boost controller.

I really hate hot linking to other URLs, but I think this guide will help you out a lot.

1992 4g93t cd5a Mitsubishi Lancer GSR 1.8 Manual Dohc turbo starting/electrical problems

First you need to check all your fuses with a test light. The 12 volt light switch wire for the ilumimation of your gauges is just a park light feed, the best way to find it is using test light,it can be found in radio plug or park light switch or fuse board.Your check engine light is not so easy ,first I would check the bulb in dash, then you need to make sure of you lose wire tap connections the check engine light needs a feed to it to come on you need to check your aftermarket ecu wiring diagram to see where this is or get hold of a factory one to find it to see if you can manual trip it with test light.

1992 Mitsubishi Lancer GSR, 4wd 1.8 dohc turbo, cd5a, 4g93-t engine.

first thing to do is remove spark plugs and if they smell really fuely you will need to change them if that doesnt help you will need to get the microtech tuned for a good coldstart , this depends on if its running stand alone or as a piggy back
cheers.
