Hi
Having starting problems with my lancer, at first I thought it was a starter motor problem as I was having prior problems when car was warm or had stalled then it would not starter until car was abit cooler. Now my car cranks over but doesn't fully start, when it does bite, it doesn't idle long & it sounds like a helicopter & then it back fires, pops & stutters. Engine check light does not come on now but my Microtech Ltx8 after market ecu is still has green light showing it is on. Wiring has been checked. My car is running rich and has a Sard race fuel pressure regulator which is reading 40psi, is this normal? would this be a fuel filter/fuel pump problem? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hey, sounds like the same thing i am going through, unplug the airflow sensor and see if the car idles smooth.... my engine idle's really rough and backfires 2, but when i unplug it its smooth as ever..try that and see
First thing to do is remove spark plugs and if they smell really fuely you will need to change them if that doesnt help you will need to get the microtech tuned for a good coldstart , this depends on if its running stand alone or as a piggy back
cheers.
please leave feedback.
