SOURCE: 2004 GMC Envoy Seat Heating Element

Yes u must de-trim the seat cushion, the element is inside the seat, this is not a job for the novice, get the part yourself and take it to an automotive trim shop.

SOURCE: My driver side seat heater button only stays on

You need to get your seat heater module reprogrammed. This can be done at the dealership. The bulletin number is 05-08-50-008.This is a bulletin not a recall.GOOD LUCK.

SOURCE: Our Driver Seat Heaters and passenger seat will turn on for 2 sec

When this was happening on my Envoy it ended up being the seat heaters control module that was going out. About $600 a seat on mine. Just wish my repair center found that out before they replaced the seat heaters twice.

I have a 2008 Ford Taurus X AWD. When the dashboard button for the driver seat heating system is pressed, the LED's light, but when released go off and nothing happens. All other seats are fine. Help

ok so when you press a separate button for the others do you feel a click and the button stays in till you press it again and it comes out but when your driver button is pushed in it just come out and doesn't stay in the switch is broken inside and the lock isn't engaging inside holding the button in /or is it that the switch stays illuminated showing its on but no heat from the seat element if that's the case you have to get under the seat cover to the element and possible clean the plug and connector corrosion can get in there from moisture or that element has failed ok

2010 Lincoln MKS Heated Seat on driver's side stopped working (Light in button turns off on its' own)

The most common cause of this problem is that the drivers seat heater grid is open or burned out. That is based on 25 years as a Ford dealer technician.

2004 Chevrolet Avalanche driver side heated seat switch with pedal adjustment and memory does nothing.

Is it just the heated seat? If it is the element in the seat pad has shorted out and the switch acts like a circuit breaker and will turn back off after a few seconds. The only way to fix it would be to pull the seat cushion and test the leads to the element with a meter for resistance. Once the pad is replaced or repaired the switch will work as normal again. There is nothing wrong with the switch...It is the heating element in the seat.

My 2004 yukon's heated seats will not stay on. The button lights up for a few seconds and then turns off. This happens on both the drivers and passenger side.

Mine did that forever, but started working after the instrument cluster was replaced. It started to show 100 mph in a parking lot. Dealer replaced it for free, and now every little quirk seems to have disappeared, including the heated seats. They are very nice lately. Damn cold here.

Heated Seats

I had the same problem on my 04 LeSabre. To check to see whether it was the element or the switch, I unplugged both seats and ran jumper wires to make left switch control the right element. The switch and element worked properly. Then I ran jumper wires to make right switch control the left element. The problem was the same, so it was the element was bad.

I had my element replaced at the dealership, since I didn't want to wreck my leather seats. It cost over $400 (about $150 for the element). I guess it just tucks next to the old element - the old element stays in place.

Driver Heated Seat 03 Suburban

The most likely failure point is the driver heated seat elements. They probably have excessive resistance and once they warm up a little they short out the module and it defaults to not working. I would recommend replacing both upper and lower driver seat elements.
