Why is the brake light on after putting front brakes on

Do you mean the brake lights on the rear of the vehicle or the brake light on the dash?

Change brake pads

For starters the front and rear us disk pads and it is not hard to do. On the front jack up the front and us jack stand for safety. After you take of the wheel remove the two bolts at the back of the brake caliper remove the caliper and then the old pads us a C- clamp with one of the old pads installed in the caliper then just us the c-clamp to push the cylinder all the way in until it will go no further install new pads put back on. But before you do the next side hit the brake to push the cylinder back out. Go to other side do the same thing. On a side not you only need to replace the rear brakes every other time you do the front. The front wear twice as fast as they do most of the stopping.

Ford 2004 f250 king ranch v10 6.8 brakes are not working.

In this case, you will need to leak the for wheels, never leak only one or two wheels when adjusting the breaks. If the leaking continues you need to check the conduit for potential damages. If pedal stay soft after checking everything else, check the break fluid unit. The unit has a piston if I'm not wrong. The piston has some parts that are of rubber material which can wear out or get damaged.

I have oil leaking from the rear driver side tire after changing the front brake pads, (did not bleed the brakes)

you have a rear wheel cylinder leaking and its puerly coincidental that you saw it at the same time as changing the front brake pads

Hi I own an audi a4 2004 Quattro, and i been having problems after i changed my break pads recently. Everytime i break, when going on low speed, there's a clunking sound coming from both, left and right...

um, clunking brakes when braking after you repaired them? EMERGENCY PROCEDURE REQUIRED Have the car towed to a reputable shop. Your brake pads or calipers or wheel are coming apart. they could fail while driving. This is likely very serious. Hopefully, it is just the anti rattle clips not holding the pads in place but do not chance it. Also, consider a mobile mechanic

What is the procedure to replace front and rear brake pads on 1 2006 Audi A4 Quattro? It doesz not seem to be the same process as American cars.

For front brake pads replacement you need only usually wrench set, inclusive 7 mm allen key also. But for rear brake pads replacement you need obligatory a special caliper piston pressing tool, in order to press back rear caliper piston with parking brake automatic adjustment!!! For front brake pads. First you must verify yours front brake disc diameter: 280 mm or 288 mm. (On my car y have 288 mm). After that you can buy the brake pads (with wear sensor). For change front brake pads you must raise vehicle, remove wheels, extract the retaining spring of the caliper, and remove the caliper as follow: 1. Do not disconnect the brake hose from the caliper, and do not allow the caliper to hang by the brake hose! 2. Remove top and bottom caps (on back side of the caliper) for access to guide pins, then unbolt and remove them from the brake carrier. Remove the caliper. 3. Now you must thoroughly clean the brake calipers (free of grease). 4. Remove outer brake pad from brake carrier. 5. Pull inner brake pad out of brake caliper piston. 6. Check up the brake fluid level on the reservor, and emptying if neccessary! 7. Push piston back into brake caliper housing. 8. Install inner brake pad (with expanding spring) in brake caliper piston. (Arrow marked on pad - if exist, must point in direction of brake disc rotation when vehicle is moving forward). 9. Install outer brake pad into brake carrier. 10. Bolt brake caliper housing to brake carrier using two guide pins. Tightening torque is 25 Nm. 11. Install both caps. 12. Insert retaining spring into brake caliper housing. Important: Depress the brake pedal firmly several times while the car is stationary so that the brake pads adjust to their normal operating positions!!! Check brake fluid level and top up if neccessary!!!

I need to change the rear brake pads on a 2004 jeep cherokee

first put the car on jack stands secure the front tires so it does not roll second take the bolts out behind the caliper and once off you will be able to remove the old pads; keep one to use to press the cylinder back in using a "C" clamp so you can put the new ones on also remove a little of the brake fluid from the master cylinder before doing this so you do not damage the check valve and once everything is back together be sure to put brake fluid back in and pump the brakes before driving and if needed for additional information try www.autozone.com to see if your vehicle is listed

Can I replace my Rear Brake Pads? or does a dealer have to?

You can do it yourself there is just a wire that you have to disconect from old pads and re-connect on the new pads.

Rear brake rotor removal

Should just pop right off. Hit it gently with rubber mallet, it might have rusted to the hub
