My moms 1998 Ford Taurus's battery dies with the cables normally connected. If you take one of the cables off the battery, it works fine. You just need to reconnect before you start the engine. We were told it was the GEM Module and I have had no luck finding one. -First does this problem sound like a GEM Module Problem? -Second, where can I find one?

It sounds like something is drawing power with the key off. It could be the GEM module but I doubt it. There is a draw somewhere. Connect battery and pull fuses one at a time to see if curent drain stops. You will need an ampmeter in series with the battery and the postive cable. Expensive. Get one from pick n pull salvage yard real cheap.

  • Check the following fuse junction panel fuses: fuse 23 (5A), fuse 20 (5A), and fuse 8 (5A).

How should I go about diagnosing and repairing a 2002 Ford Taurus with 50,000 miles that is giving off multiple transmission error codes but shifts and runs fine and has no symptoms other than the war

Was the car parked because it had these codes 2 years ago? You need to check all connections for corrosion and or being loose to start with, including the battery cables and then load test battery.. The codes indicate that a sensor or solenoid is not getting power. There is no easy simple way to find out which it is. You will need a book to guide you through steps of diagnosing because the circuits have different voltage signals at different connections.

Car battery died so I cant get into my ford taurus how do I get the hood open without being inside the car?

You don't have a key to unlock the door ?
It might be easier to hook a jumper cable to the battery post on the starter from under the car, instead of trying to open the hood thru the grille.
