I need help with a theft lock code for my Pontiac Bonneville 2000. There is no display when I turn on the ignition and the theft lock light stays on. I have tried the one procedure with holding the 2 & 3 buttons down and writing down the code but there is no display on the radio.

I suggest you try one of those instant download manuals. My brother ( a mechanic) buys it when he can't fix some technical issue He buys from www.reliable-store.com . A lot of mechanics actually do this. Website
is very good for this. Must try it !!

SOURCE: My 2000 grand am anti

This solution is for a 1999 Grand Am SE am/fm radio with tape cassette player:
Ido not know if this works for other Grand Am products past or prior 1999.
If the lcd display of the radio indicates "LOC" if you do not see anything on the display the small light behind the display is out and you need electronics to go further. If LOC appears here is what to do:
First put the ignition key to the ACC position.
2- press the HR clock adjust button once only ; the display should read 000
3-push the HR button successively until you reach 17 on the radio displayffd4cd1.jpg 4-then press on the MN (minutes) button again until you reach the number 42
5-when the number 1742 appears on the display, press on the AM/FM button once and after on the POWER/VOL button to power up the radio.

SOURCE: Pontiac Bonneville(2000) oil pressure sending unit

The oil pressure sending unit is located behind the oil filter, Threaded into an aluminunm housing. It has wiring that plugs into the sending unit. The oil filter has to be removed and you will need a deep well socket and a 6 inch extension. Change the oil and the sending unit together.

2000 pontiac Bonneville won't start security light flashes all lights works is transponder gone bad?

The wires in the steering column to the ignition lock cylinder tend to break. The the key and ignition lock cylinder must be replaced to correct this condition, it's just not detecting your key hope this helps or gets you thinking. Check battery connection or try repriming fuel system by turning the key switch on and off a couple times without cranking.

2000 pontiac grand prix wont start security light on

The security, antitheft, or passlock light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterperates this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle.

Key Won't Come Out of the Ignition

Theft System (VATS) or PASS-Key made all Firebirds more theft-resistant. In response to an escalating trend among car thieves to target the Camaro and Firebird. VATS incorporated a small resistor into the ignition key shaft which was read by a sensor when the key was inserted. VATS-equipped cars also displayed anti-theft system warning decals in the lower rear corners of the side windows.
