I have 94 s 10..4.3 v6. it does the same thing have replaced fuel pump and filter, ignition module, cap rotor plugs wires, coil, ground strap...driving down the road jus dies like the key got shut off....for a while when troubleshooting through the parts you could get it to restart.....now when it dies it cranks really hard when trying to restart..ive checked the timeing its fine....if i wait a few min it will usually start...sometimes it will show a check engine light sometimes not......never know when it will happen sometimes jus down the the road from the house sometimes 100miles down the road......sometimes three times in a mile sometimes not for weeks at a time..Wtf...Im ready to shoot it like a lame horse....its a shame too its a sharp lil truck thats a two owner and never spent a night outside in its life...i knew the original owner ...i bought it with 90,000 on it it only has 148,000 now and still looks like new...
sounds like alternator is on its last legs, start your car, then undo battery to see if it dies,if it doesnt, try turning your headlights on.when undoing battery be careful not to ground out your positive terminal when undoing the battery
no stumbling first? sounds ignition related check all the plug ins on ign system I assume it always starts right back up ok? sounds like either crank or cam sensor,if I had to guess it would be crank first but next time it dies try restarting right away without shutting key off first and let the engine crank for about 30-40 sec if it don;t start it should set a dtc which will tell you either crank or cam sensor but it will start happening more often until one day it just wont restart again.
When it dies does it take enough time to restart as if it needed to cool down for maybe 15minutes or so? the problem sounds most like your starting to have a pgmf-i main relay go bad.Its located on drivers side up behind lower kick panel. its a dealer only part but any acura dealer will have several in stock.
Sounds like a fuel pump issue. Confirm readings with a fuel pump gauge. Post the psi readings so I can see them. I'm away from my reference material right now, but I think there is either a TSB or a recall out on the problem you are describing. Check with a dealer to be sure. Have the dealer run yourVIN to see if you're part of the recall or TSB.
