2003 chevy cavalier will not start after sitting overnight

Usually the sign of a bad fuel pump check valve that allows fuel pressure to bleed off over night. Try this in the morning. Turn the key to ON for 2-secs, then OFF. Repeat 3 times. Then try to start. If it starts right up, you need a new fuel pump. By turning the key on and off you're filling the fuel lines and building pressure that you lost overnight.

Just turns off on it's own, Wait 60 sec. restart press pedel it dies.

This engine is electronically controlled so the first thing that must be done here is to have the systems control computer tested for fault codes and then do the proper diagnostics based on those codes.

1998 chevy 1500 silverado 5.7 liter 2 wheel drive missfired, jerked and died it would not start.

The first thing you do is run an OBD2 engine control module fault code test, this engine is fully electronically controlled. You will need a code reader to do this test, rent one or borrow one from a local auto parts store like Autozone or O'reilly. The test connector under the dash in front of the driver. I started my car this morning and it ran fine for about 4 min. then died. try to start it again, and it wont fire off.

start simple check gas and fluid levels look for loose connections in wiring are you using remote starter? check for fuel pump noise have someone turn on the key while you remove gas cap listen for humming sound when ignition switch is in run note fuel pump will only stay on for 2-3 sec unless starting car

I have 1998 Chevy Silverado with over 200,000 miles. One morning I started it up just fine, backed out of the drive way, and it just died. I turned the ignition to off, and turned it back on and parked it....

Check your battery terminals. They may be corroded or just loose. If you get it running again have the battery and charger tested at an Advance or Autozone.

Hope this helps.

Truck won't start

If it has a vortech V8 It has to have the right fuel PSI or it won't start. Also pick up in distributor could be causeing problem. Cross over style distributor cap also can cause problem. Out of oil? Fuel pressure regulator where found inside the intake manifold with injector cluster, if fuel psi regulator goes bad could be leaking fuel in intake causing oil to get deluted and burn.

Ran fine then next day all went to /

that sounds correct and its probably electric and in the tank. turn the key to the start position then listen for a small humming noise coming from gas tank if theres no sound then thats most likely the problem.
