SOURCE: Losing Power
2.5L is really lacking on power. what had to do is route the air inlet tube for the filter box to the front of the truck right beside the radiator that what it pushes air into the motor and have more power. now the truck gets better gas mileage and has more power to get over the hill. only thing is the filter gets dirty more often and gas mileage goes down in the winter cause the cold air makes it use more gas
SOURCE: no cruise control available light comes on, and
never heard of this before ,so obviously the cruise control is allowing the throttle to work then when it has a cough it puts engine on limp or slow speed .this vehicle is fly by wire so try changing the sensors on the pedals .Or just put it into dealers because if the correct part isnt known then changing parts willy nilly could cost more than a dealer repair

the catalytic converter most likely is no the sorurce of the problem, older design bead type Cat converters used to plug, but it is very rare on the newer ceramic honeycomb cats, u need to have the electronic engine control tested, are u getting a check engije light? if not has the fuel filter been replaced every 30,000 miles? also a part called the Mass Airflow sensor can cause these symptoms as well as igntion system problems.

I would remove the tank and check the rubber hose that comes from the fuel pump to the top of the tank/gage mechanism, if there is a crack in the hose it would explain why there isnt much fuel being delivered to the motor, since it will be partly sucking air.

Try some tranX. My transmission would drop out from 2nd and 3rd , I put this in and with in 3 days it quit slipping. and shifted normally. It's been over 2 years now without a problem
