Johnny was spot on. I did what he said and found out it was the blue switch. The switch itself was not bad though. A spacer from the blue switch to where it touches the brake pedal must have come off. I replaced a new spacer in there and the cruise control works fine. THANKS!

How do I find the replacement for the cruise control brake disconnect switch for the 2004 Grand Marquis? I have disconnected and shorted and CC engages fine. Can't find a replacement part though.

SOURCE: 2000 grand marquis cruise control not working

Have seen this problem before. You need to look under dash at brake pedal and find a blue switch with plunger contacting pedal, disconnect connector and jump with a peice of wire and drive to see if cruise works and if it does replace deactivation switch this should get you going.

SOURCE: 2004 acura Tl cruise control wont engage

This is a problem you will to take to a shop, If you are mechanically inclined I can help you, but if not I would not mess with it, it could be the button or it could be the controller and could even just be a fuse, check the fuse and if you don't find the fuse blown then let me know if you have a volt meter and what to test this yourself. You are going to be working around the air bag too and if you probe the wrong wire while testing you could break your arm or leg by deploying the air bag by accident. Or your neck.

Location of 2 amp fuses in cruise control 1992 grand marquis

The cruise control fuse is a 15 amp fuse located at position #17 in the fuse block. That's the only fuse I see in that circuit according to My wiring diagram. I hope this helps. Take care.

I have a 1994 mercury grand marquis. The cruise control stopped working today so I believe a fuse blew out. Can you tell me what is the number slot in the fuse box that is for cruise control? Thank you

Hi Debbie,

First I think it should be said that whatever is wrong with your cruise control it is definitely NOT caused by a fuse. Fuses do not cause electrical circuits to fail. Failing electrical circuits case fuses to blow.

With that said, there are 2 fuses that affect your cruise control operation:
Fuse #6 (10 Amp) and Fuse #7 (15 Amp), both of which are located in the instrument panel fuse block. Fuse #6 is the power feed to the cruise control servo and Fuse #7 is the brake lamp fuse, which provides power to let the cruise control servo know when you have applied the brake.

Cruise Control - 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS - not working

Your manual should tell you that. Also check your brake light switch by the brake pedal. It also disengages the cruise. If it is bad the cruise will not work but the brake lights may still work.
