There is a fusible link in the charge wire that may have burned open. Follow the charge wire from the terminal on the back of the alternator (the one with a nut on it). The wire may go to the battery or to the starter. See if there is a part along the wire that is smaller or looks different from the rest of the wire--that is your fusible link. If it looks burned, replace it. If you can't tell, you can either test the wire with an ohmmeter or bypass the link with an added wire to see if the car will charge. Am I making sense?
