You need to look for an unlock code, it is sometimes located in the glovebox, it may be printed on the side of the radio or you might find it written in the owners manual. If you look in your manual, it may describe other locations to look.

Quotes:
Your vehicle's audio system may disable itself if it is disconnected from electrical power for

any reason.
To make it work again, you must enter a specific five-digit code with the preset buttons.
Because there are hundreds of number combinations possible from the five
digits, making the system work without knowing the exact code is nearly impossible.

You should have received a radio code card that lists your audio system's code and serial

numbers. {glove box find}
It is best to store this card in a safe place at home. In addition, you should write the audio

system's serial number in this owner's manual.

If you lose the card, you must obtain the code number from your dealer.
To do this, you will need the audio system's serial number.

If your vehicle's battery is disconnected or goes dead, or the radio
fuse is removed, the audio system will disable itself. If this happens,
you will see ''ENTER CODE'' in the frequency display (on the screen on models with navigation

system) the next time you turn on the system.
Use the preset buttons to enter the five-digit code. The code is on the radio code card included

in your owner's manual kit.
When it is entered correctly, the radio will start playing.

If you make a mistake entering the code, do not start over; complete the
five-digit sequence, then enter the correct code. You have 10 tries to enter the correct code.
If you are unsuccessful in 10 attempts, you
must then leave the system on for 1 hour before trying again.

The system will retain your AM and FM presets even if power is disconnected. {only on newer cars'

Radio code required.

The better solution is right in your glove compartment. On the inside of the blove box door you should find a small white sticker, usually near the left side. The sticker will have two sets of numbers.

The number set with five digits is your radio reset code.

CD takes too long to play or read

OEM cd players are set up to keep burned cds from playing well or at all. Some will work better if you use a better cd brand or quality cd.

I disconnected the battery and when I went to turn on the radio a code came up. I did not know what this ment so I was just started pushing buttons. 3error came up. I then had my son disconnect the battery...

Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for 3 minutes, and try again. The error message shouldnt be on when you insert the radio code, it wont work. I sure hope that the battery inside the radio didnt die, because it wont be able to retain the code, or the station presets. You will be amazed at how much better the aftermarket radios are. If unable to bring it back to life, do not hesitate replacing it with a well known brand. Most come with inputs to play pendrives and Ipods.
