Could need an update for the gearbox , if the right transmission was installed

If you didnt remove the neg term when unplugging this it can throw a A-CODE which is electrical module warning failure.I suggest do a hard reset by unplugging the neg term.for a hour.

The red light is for warning the amber is for caution so your caution light is on thats the amber the amber is reserved for local market like brake pads,oil change,or abs that affects steering stability, The information is exclusive only your driver handbook will define it

The car is talking to you say its sick.Here is what will happen, The TRAC, ASC, light is on okay the APP will now go to limp home mode what this mean it will default giving limited operations, youll probable just go 30mph, and that is just it. The transmission does not know what gear or how fast its going so it communicates to the powertrain it tell it I dont know what Im doing so it activates the traction control and say keep me safe the traction control say okay Ill get disable, then the transmission control tell the powertrain I could be burning up or slipping. So The APP(acclerator pedal position ) gets involved and say we will just limp on home.Remeber i love juguars so does tow trucks

A small leak over period time will cause fault light (amber) to come on. There is no dipstick. Can only be refilled by dealer or certified Jag Mechanic. Cost of fluid at dealer $60. Quart. Check online; $15 quart

On my Xj8 the red light comes on if a door is open or some other fault.
The amber one comes on when the traction control kicks in.
Both go out when the car is running normally.

I am not familiar with the light your speaking of (I am assuming a warning light for engine heat?) if she's running warm the thermostate may be failing or stuck in a partially closed/open position.

If the light is an Engine Check light then yes is may be as simple as a faulty fuel cap not holding presure within the tank. You'll note some cars when you open the cap there is a small "huff" of air as the cap is removed.
